California has passed a law requiring IMDB and other subscription-based databases that use actor birth dates to remove them on request. I'm assuming California has no jurisdiction over Ken so he can probably thumb his nose at them, but this is definitely going to make it harder to find birth years, at least for some actors/actresses.

That's a strange thing. Birth date is a matter of public record isn't it? If you wanted to do some rooting, isn't everyone's birthdate in some public archive somewhere or am I over-simplifying it?

Also, IMDB publishes the full birth date, DVD Profiler only uses the birth year, so it doesn't have the same potential impact.

Kibosh... for now. Some law professors think it'll be ruled unconstitutional.

May be it is time to abandon birth years and overhaul the linking system...

Maybe, but what is California going to do when it has no jurisdiction over Invelos.  Amazon is a different matter all together unless they completely eliminate their nexus with California.
