The Warner Archive Blu-ray of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers has the original cinemascope version as main feature and a widescreen (1.77:1) version as special feature on a separate disc.
This version was separately shot and differs in running (the 1.77:1 is a few seconds shorter) and editing credits.
The current profile has this version as a bonus feature film.
Is this really a valid entry for a bonus feature film with its own child profile?
I mean it's not the same movie in two different formats. It was separately shot (so different takes were used for each version) and there some minor differences. But is this really enough? For me, a bonus feature film is something different.
I would say it comes close to a release with different cuts for a single movie.
Which wouldn't allow a child profile but rather a listing in the special features section.

What do you think?
Think different

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

Interesting, so why did you vote "Yes" to making it a Bonus Feature Film back in July, 2018.

ninso4 quoted no contribution rules to support his proposal.

It is not, nor does it come close to being a release with different cuts for a single movie.
A single movie has one original camera negative.
What we have here are two movies with separate original camera negatives.

As stated in the contribution rules:
"The term "Bonus Feature Film" is used to define any feature film that is included as part of the bonus material for a single release."

The poll author stated that the widescreen (1.77:1) version is a special feature on a separate disc.

In fact, it is actually listed on the back cover under SPECIAL FEATURES as:
DISC 2: Rarely-Screened Alternate Widescreen Version in Flat (1.77) Aspect Ratio (16x9)

The Bonus feature film with its own child profile is correct as per the contribution rules.

The benefit of this option is both video formats of the film (CinemaScope Widescreen 2.35:1 and Flat Widescreen 1.77:1) are now separately recorded and the different Film Editors receive due recognition for their respective film.
