Seems like the push by the fanbase to have him rehired was succesful

I'm glad, the guy is very talented and both of the Guardians movies have been some of the best in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also helped introduce the weirder parts of Marvel to the movie audiences

Not until after he films The Suicide Squad, so won't be for another couple of years before he starts working on it.

True! Thankfully he's already finished the script. I imagine production on GOTG3 will start as soon as post-production of Suicide Squad 2 wraps up.
