I am trying to figure out why this keeps getting declined. I am submitting the actual high-res cover scan with the slipcover and without the Best Buy advertising. It keeps getting declined without an explanation. I think they are good actual scans and follows the rules, for a change I believe.
This is what I am trying to submit and I don't know why it can't be. I had one yes and zero no and that was it
Thanks for help.

Was there a paper glued to the back?  One with the UPC and all the features listed?  If yes, that is what needs to be submitted.

Which UPC are you submitting this for.  I can't see your images from where I am, but this was the package that had 3 separate UPC for both Blu-ray and DVD pre-orders.

no, the overlayed paper was not features, just advertising from Best Buy with the 3 different UPC's to be scanned and instructions for cashier of how to scan the correct one. this can't be the correct image with 3 UPC's and Best Buy instructions.

If I am not mistaken, the steel book isn't the actual cover.  It was available as a limited edition case, sold without the DVD, only.  I won't know for sure until I go to Best Buy tomorrow and pick it up.  Just curious, how did you get your copy early?

Back on topic, the lack of a UPC is probably what is causing the decline.

It was a preorder special at BestBuy, if you preordered Snow White the $7.50 deposit they gave you the steelbook case only while supplies last.

I just hope that BestBuy starts doing more of the Steelbook cases like FutureShop has been doing.

The steelbook also had an identical slipcover as well.  It appears the Snow White Blu-ray has a different UPC Code: 7-86936-78760-3 and the ones listed in the instructions look to be Best Buy specific UPC Codes.  Since the steelbook is the same item regardless if you ordered the DVD or Blu-ray I'd think that would be the correct UPC Code to use.  Here are the three codes:

4-00094-26695-3 - Free Steelbook Case with Snow White Pre-Order
4-00094-25721-0 - Pre-Order Blu-ray Combo Pack
4-00094-25712-8 - Pre-Order DVD Combo Pack

It may be getting declined due to the cover art not having an upc code on the cover.  Have you mentioned in your comments that you used the upc listed on the BB insert vs. making up a code?

I would NOT contribute the steelbook, nor would I vote for it. If you want to do so loaclly that is your call. The reason is simple; the Steelbook is not a release in it's own right , it was merely a bonus which was "purchased" by the customer of BB, and it's only pre-requisite was that the customer "pre-ordered" a copy of Snow White, there was not even a requirement of WHICH version. Therefore, if you were to get it Contributed for YOUR version, then someione else could get it for ALL versions of this release of Sbnpw white...just a tad ludicrous. If this were a release in own right then you would have something else, but Invelos has been absolutely correct in declining the contribution.

This logic doesn't make a lick of sense, since it is already submitted and accepted in the system with images.

I am merely submitting cleaner, nicer looking images that don't have the Best Buy advertising and the 3 UPCs. Just the regular slipcover over the SteelBook which would be for any version.

Makes it look nice and clean on the interwebs.

If you are contributing it under the UPC that is used for the preorder (which it appears you are doing) then I'd say that it is fine. It should not however be contributed as the cover image for any of the other Snow White UPC's.

That said, I agree that it's probably getting declined because it does not contain the UPC. I also agree that the UPC is not part of the cover and is only on a piece of paper that contains instructions for the Cashier\Customer relating to the preorder.

I would try resubmitting and explaining the no UPC thing in your notes. If it still gets declined then I guess just keep it local, at least you have the scans you prefer others can always grab the image from here (or while its up for votes)

Am I missing something here?  I thought the steelebook was sold as an empty case when you preordered Snow White.  If it is an empty case, why is it being profiled at all?

It is an empty case.  I guess people are considering it analogous to the anime Vol 1 + box, though in this case there's no vol. 1.

I agree with Skip & TheMadMartian.  Since this UPC is for an empty case, why is it being profiled!?!  The fact that the UPC was erroneously accepted into the db doesn't make it right when trying to contribute an updated cover.  The whole entry should actually be removed IMHO.

Just wanted to comment that the reason for decline shouldn't be the fact that there isn't a UPC present on the scans, as I've had numerous scan contributions without UPCs (namely anime box sets where the UPC is on the bottom, not the front or back) that have been accepted without a problem.

It might be as others are suggesting in that it's just an empty case that was purchased, not a DVD or Bluray. I can see why someone would want it to be in the database, but as it stands, maybe since it didn't actually include any disc is why it's being declined? And the first acceptance was in error? Really I don't know, but I don't think it's due to lack of UPC.

The lack of UPC is irrelevant...I have several discs where the UPC is on the bottom and not visible.  This program is called DVD Profiler, not DVD Case Profiler.  This UPC is for an empty case...there is nothing to profile.  Therefore, it does not belong in the main db.  If someone wants to add it locally, so be it, but it shouldn't be in the main db.
