| Posted: | | | | I'm a bit late to this thread, but my #1 wish would be Unicode support. Second would be a switch to given/family name rather than first/middle/last, but I suspect that one would be a bit more controversial. |

And family name can be a royal pain as has been discussed, cussed, re-cussed and cussed some more many many times. Given Name and Family name are on screen, too. I still think its stupid to let the CLT decide that "Masamune Shirow" or "Shirow Masamune" is the correct "common name". All trials to add crosslinks to chinese or japanese films, for example anime, is a complete mess. A field Given Name/Family Name would solve this problem... If the screen shows the different order we could use "credited as". | | | Last edited: by Rince81 |

| Posted: | | | | Yes they are, Hilbert, we have been around this tree to many times, but the answer is NOT always that easy to ascertain. Ken made a comment relative to making allowances in the program, instead of "ultimate" accuracy, which is a moving target. I am tired of playing ring around the mulberry bush. I know what you or someone else is going to say, youy know what I and others are going to say, end result....nowhere. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | I know I brought it up before, but I'd like to manually add VHS, Laserdiscs etc. Right now it's a little difficult, since you're obligated to mark it as a DVD. So have about a simple tab like this: Sorry about the bad photojob, but I'm at work and only have Paint Shop Pro, and it was really bad to work it compared to photoshop. But adding this simple tab, all the people (including me) complaining about wanting to gave games, CDs VHS etc, can just write in the media type for the one they want when creating the profile. And before people start yelling about contributions and messing up the database; it would be simple to deactivate the possibility to contribute any profile which is a "custom media". This way we could have whatever media we wanted, without any burdens being put on the Invelos team. And of course no more request for CDProfiler, VHSProfiler etc. Also, I really liked the idea from Larry regarding being able to put "sub-numbering" on profiles. | | | |

| Posted: | | | | I would wish this little feature request to be released. I also would like the database to be re-shaped to put in common certain fields from different profiles (like cast, crew, CoO, production year, original title), but I won't ask for it, since there is no agreement on this matter. | | | Last edited: by Sebastien |

Your request in various forms dates back over 8 years, it's not going to happen, in this form. Perhaps via a separate program someday, but i wouldn't hold my breath. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! And before people start yelling about contributions and messing up the database; it would be simple to deactivate the possibility to contribute any profile which is a "custom media"... I'm definitely siding with those who do not want to see DVD Profiler expanded into a Media Profiler program, but I actually like this idea. The point about disabling the possiility to contribute anything with a custom media tag is a good one. I don't see what harm it can do, and it would make lots of people happy that they can at last include their old laserdiscs and VHS movies. Granted, there's the "slippery slope" argument that once this kind of change finds its way into the program it opens the door to additional data fields and whatnot being requested ad nauseum, but I for one think that would be worth it for the additional functionality. | Posted: | | | | A separate dvd distributor field gets my vote. I'll agree with the ones who mentioned removing well known bugs, re-adding removed features (like 4.0 sound), adding an "other" option for CoO, "completing" the language list and changing genres to a local field... | | | - Jan |

| Posted: | | | | The ability to deal with multiple CoO's (preferably using checkboxes like we have for Subtitles) - have not seen this mentioned yet, or I must have overlooked it. |

| Posted: | | | | -I'd like to see more languages and special subs (eg: for deaf and hard of hearing). I now all the languages aren't possible, so a custom entry would be nice.
(2nd) -Special profile for box containing more discs (I mean by this: you select the type (eg box with 2 or more discs) and then features like languages, subs, aspect ratio, etc... would be disabled). This is easy because now some people keep contributing these things for box sets.
That's all for me, not much, I'm already quite happy with the version we have right now! | | | |

That's all for me, not much, I'm already quite happy with the version we have right now! There is a couple small problems with the second one. If you make it so the parent profile cannot have those things 1. There would have to be something in there to determine from movie boxset and TV Show boxset as the rules for TV Shows is that the info must be in both the parent and child profiles. As not everyone wants child profiles for TV Series. 2. Even for film boxsets that is not right to do in my opinion... as I am sure there are people that want that info in the parent profile so the info is in both... or possibly there can be people that don't want child profiles for film boxsets either now that we have dividers. So these people have to be able to do what they want locally. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | It's not my one and only wish, but it would be nice if boxsets could be expanded with arrow keys. This used to work with 2.x. |
