Maurice, Dan, stop discussing the changing of the rules here-you know there is a forum for that. Also when you change the "rule" be aware that the contribution made by andy is still legal, as it was contributed before your changes.
The context inside the paragraph of this "rule" is for titles that have been released, nothing more, nothing less.
Maurice, please do not comment on database design, and try to use it to back up the argument - we both know you will not win.
Nice to see you all again AJ |

I didn't say you did it to piss me off. But it is clear by your behavior that you have done it willfully, oir else you would have made the coirrection and you wouldn't be trying to spin to defend your breaking of the rules.
Skip I did it willfully yes, as I believe it is within the rules.. as I have said about 50 times, but you fail to get. No matter what you say, the rule is not clear - 15 pages should make that painfully clear even to you. We have a difference of opinion, thats all it is. You decided to make this into a huge issue, when all it should have been was a No vote to express your opinion. | | | Andy

Nice to see you all again AJ Yep, things are the same. If you'll look again you might notice that I was replying to posts from Telecine and northbloke in reference to a suggestion Telecine made. | | | Dan |

| Posted: | | | | I agree the SRP per the rules should NOT be changed for a "few cents" (makes cents ) But I also agree that per the rules, it should come from the SRP "at the time of the DVDs original release", which has not happened. But I also think 15 pages of "interpreting" the rules is crazy. For example the title is "Use the title from the film's credits" Which of course we don't have. Have I missed something or is there actually a "Contribution rule" that allows contributing pre-release films? I know it is done, but if we are so set on following the rules...could you please show me where that rule is? If there is such a rule, I am looking in the wrong place. If there is no such rule then all three contributions are "illegal". (But, Skip withdrew his.) So arn't we all "wrong"? Peabody |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting skipnet50: Quote: Not true, telecine. Once the DVD is released the SRP should noit be changer at all, unless someone has slipped in an SRP reduction and it has to be fixed. Even at THAT you still do NOT change the SRP for pennies, the Rules say NO!!!!!!!!!!!
Use just a little common sense.
Skip I am sorry but no. I don't see that exception in the rule. If an SRP change of a few cents is 'slipped in', there is no provision for fixing it. As you have said...for 15 pages now..."the SRP Rules specifically says Do NOT change it". I don't see an 'unless' anywhere in the rule, do you? Skip I have seen SRP only changes...of just a few cents...with the contribution notes saying "restoring SRP that was incorrectly changed". I just wanted to make sure we were all on the same page. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. It seems to me that any rule that prevents documented correct data from replacing undocumented incorrect data is a bad rule and needs to be adjusted. And it's still an idiotic waste of time and effort, because that "documented" source could turn around the next day and make another change of a nickel or a quarter, and then somebody is gonna want to change it again on the grounds that it's an 'official' change. That's why the rule says NO changes allowed. | | | John
