In general, my experience with newbies is that the older ones are more respectful and less likely to go ballistic if somebody gives a short answer.  Its usually the young ones who are impatient, imprudent, and arrogant who expect you to do everything for them 'just because.'

Kinda like 2nd Lieutenants in a combat zone - they don't usually last too long.

In this world people want everything for nothing. I used to have my collection in MSACCESS and it wasn't what I was truly happy with. Then I lost my MS Access disk and didn't want to hassle with coming up with something new. I stumbled upon this program from the Microsoft site. I quickly went over the 50 DVD limit and by that time it was too late to turn back, I had found exactly what I was looking for. The 30 bucks is nothing and is cheap money for such a great program. I think they should stay with the 50 DVD limit and have a special forum for free users with read only access to the other forums. I think once people see what you can accomplish with this program and how great it is they will pony up the money and purchase. I recommended the program to a couple of my friends that are fellow collectors. I especially love the online feature from any internet computer.  THIS IS A GREAT PROGRAM. I greatly thank those responsible for this program and extensive database. It has solved and great problem for me and at the same time saved me a lot of time.

if you read the forums - you'll notice 90% + are all paid users anyhow... just leave the access to the users, its how they learn... restrict the program to gain revenue

well i am a free user that reistered it from version 2.4  personally i think it sucks that that software wont continue to work since i really have no desire to get the new version that i dont like after trying it out

actually skip  i wouldnt use the new version at all.  after a couple minutes of using the new version  i just dont like so free or pay doesnt really matter to me.  actually the only reason i used the old version becasue i hated keeping an access database of my dvds and the old version saved me all the typing.  however i think im going back to using a access database as its a lot less bloated

That's a hoot, isn't it?  If he really, truly wants lean and mean, he should just go back to dBase II.  Of course, he wouldn't be able to use any pictures with his data, but what the hell, right?
