Version 3.6 automatically detects barcode scanning and takes an intelligent action, depending on the status of the profile (loaned, ordered, etc).  There's no need to press Alt-F10.

NICE!  Making it harder and harder to keep using 3.5 until the beta hits RC.

Works great. Thank you.
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

Well... I ended up making my own:

It starts by asking you for a Collection.xml file, and proceeds to load the list.
Then, you can scan by either:
* entering UPC in the textbox, once identified, the movie is instantly added and textbox clear for next
* double-clicking an item on the list also works

I added a nice little "pling" sound, this is because my barcode scanner is wireless, I can start scanning from my movie shelf and hear if the movie was found or not. If it was already scanned, a beep will sound

It also shows how far and how manu items are left, both in numbers, and with a couple of progress bars, so it's easy to see from a distance.

If you want, I can make it a little more robust than it is now, a one-click installer can be run from my website:

Can you post where to get one? Good work on the tool. We went from rags to riches in short order ...

Edit: Thanks for the links. Wow, expensive ...

Heh, already did a few extra changes to the tool after putting it to the test:

* UPC scanner now works (my scanner doesen't insert dashes, so the quick & dirty fix was to strip the upc scan area of dashes before comparing)
* You get a fonky error sound if you scan a movie that is supposed to be loaned out
* The same fonky error sound is sounded (?) if the movie cannot be found
* A milder, more skin-friendly sound is played if you try to scan the same movie twice

I also made a page on my homepage for the software project. Simply running the program should provide you with the option to upgrade. It's in the majestic version 1.0.0.2 now heh

Here's the homepage

Probably coming soon:
* Save progress (so you dont have to start over)
* Filtering locations
* Historical info (when you scanned last, what was scanned etc)

Wow. Would like such a scanner, but... too expensive. Will keep on working with my cuecat.

Btw. Nice too.

Saved me a ton of time, I had a cuecat too, but it burned after scanning the first 200 movies, hehe.. I overloaded it with my softpr0n :D

Anyways, I'm not sure if my app rates as an associated plug-in / External tool to DP, I know I havent used any API other  than just reading the exported xml file and importing it into my own app - should I post it somewhere, or are there some rules about this kind of development?

There's the Plugin section in this forum and you can add it to the downloadable plugins (see top menu).

Ok, I've applied for access to the plugin section, not quite sure how to add a downloadable plugin, I suspect I need some sort of status before I see that option
