There's a great deal of ideas in this thread I'd also like to see.

Additionally what I would also like:

Default Locks and Default Tags.

Go to the settings and define the locks and tags every new profile gets when it is created.

1. Real database, not this dat-file cowpie, for better speed and SQL-Queries (Plug-Ins).
2. Crosslink between Cast and Crew, and Filter for Crew Information Window (Director, Producer…)
3. Separate Folder for Headshots, and Headshots Function in SDK
4. Rule change. Birth year when known for person, and not only when two persons with same name

Minor changes:
1. Boolean for every Profile for mobile synchronisation (Yes/No)
2. Delete all buttons for cast and crew

Wish list for Mobile 1.5: Fix the bugs and Filter Tags

I'm surprised no one has said this already, but if you really want to improve DVDProfiler now and in the future. Then getting rid of the troll who constantly spam these forums with the delusion that his ideas are the only ones worth considering. (He's a pizza delivery boy for goodness sakes, before that a Janitor). He doesn't have a clue about anything technical.

Do that, then the time wasted on a worthless reputation system, forum blocks and whatever else is planned could be better used to work on the actual program.

Now there's a wish.

Before anyone posts an answer to this, I suggest he should consider if he wants to turn this useful thread into another pointless flame war. Thank you!

Well, it's not Oracle or SQL Server or any of the main databases you see in use today but it's still a database.  Even has a ODBC driver.

The thread is useful, and The_Light's wish is one of the most pertinent.

I would go for access to the data though a standard interface like a webservice without running the GUI. Dataaccess would work, but I would consider it a pretty outdated way of accessing the data.

The thread is useful, and The_Light's wish is one of the most pertinent.

The thread is useful, but The_Light's wish has absolutely nothing to do with improvements to be added to 3.5.  If the topic were "If you have one request to improve these forums what would it be...?" The_Light's wish might be pertinent.  However, as the thread is about improvements for version 3.5 of Profiler (and not the forums), The_Light's comments are inappropriate and TigiHof is correct to point it out and request that people stay on topic.

I would go along with the child profiles automatically downloaded as being a big one for me

I just want to point out one little issue with automatic download of child profilles: while I agree that this would be great for movie box sets, it's not so great for TV-sets, for which child profiles are allowed but not required. For the vast majority of people that hardly ever use these (based on the HUGE difference between the number of votes I get on parent and child TV-profiles, I'd say that's at least 90% of the users) it would be quite annoying to have to delete them every time. I would like this feature being implemented, though, but preferably in the form of some kind window popping up when you select a profile for download, saying something along the lines of: "There are child profiles attached to this profile - download these as well?", and then being able to choose yes or no.

Thanks.  I was just coming here to suggest this be an optional feature.  I wouldn't use it myself and would rather not have it forced on me.

So, song name, performer, composer etc. To me I'd rather have this than all the crew stuff. But that's probably just me.

It's not just you.  I'd love to see this too.

If i had one wish, it would be that all cast/crew for the same movie would be stored to a single file. So no more adding cast/crew for dozens of diffrent profiles of the same movie.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the ability to properly profile discs with more than one movie (or TV episode) on the same side of the disc.  I'd LOVE to finally get rid of all my old manual profiles.

Thanks for asking.

I would love to have eventually an updated list of possible audio formats to enter that refers to the many available formats existing now on DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-ray. If You like to see such an almost complete list I will send it to You...
