Thanks
But still, a new and refreshed update with native resolution for iPhone 6 and later would be awesome...

Working on it...

I'd say it should be allowed until the Beta is officially released.

That is exactly how we're handling it.

Your online collection is intact, so as suggested above, creating a new database via the Databases menu section and downloading into that database is the best bet.

When mass contributing, you copy and paste data so I wouldn't want to have to copy and paste that text as well.

Just have one of those words in your copied/pasted text, and there's no need to fill the second field.

Please select Online->Refresh Online Profile List while holding CTRL to resolve this.

Unfortunately we receive a great number of contributions which include cast/crew and yet do not indicate the source, which have to be declined.  This field is designed to prevent that issue.

If the main contribution notes contain "cast", "crew", or "credits", then this field can be left blank.

The initial build of version 3.9.5 is now available to play with, or (if you're of a mind) to help test.

Check out the new top posts in the beta forum for details.

It was 100% active. For my account.

For new contributions (additions to the database), the contribution page will now allow the submitter the choice of whether to include the associated cast/crew.  This checkbox is on by default.

Additionally, for new profiles as well as updated profiles, if cast/crew data is submitted, there is now a separate required field for the source of that data.

Very important update.

If you elect to view these changes, you can also choose to specifically accept the name changes on a case-by-case basis.

For BYs either?

Yes.

It's still cooking. The only thing worse than a late supper is an undercooked supper / software release.  In the mean time, here's another peek. These show the expanded interface for refreshing updated profiles:

Note the new options to skip unchanged. Although this was partially possible via right-click in prior releases, the new version analyzes the update against your local database and determines which changes will not apply.  Optionally, changes in locked sections are ignored in the comparison. Additionally, this feature considers data which respect the local database choice (such as box set contents and cast/crew name capitalization).

For profiles with no changes at all, 'No changes' is displayed. For profiles with changes that will not be applied due to your preferences, 'No effects' is displayed.  If the checkbox is selected, the program will skip these updates.

If you elect to view these changes, you can also choose to specifically accept the name changes on a case-by-case basis.

Note also the option at the bottom, Show: Differences Only.  An additional choice is available here to show Effective Changes only.  So for example the cast differences shown here would not be shown.

Done.

Capitalization is a local option by design. You can set the capitalization of a cast member once locally, and no profile update will ever change it.

Please view this thread for the solution to the restart issue in today's update.

If you have not yet restarted DVD Profiler today, please select Online->Refresh Online Profile List. That will prevent the restart issue.

Locking this thread so the solution does not get buried, and removed some posts so we have a clear issue and resolution in one page.

For those who haven't yet restarted, please select Online->Refresh Online Profile List. This will avoid the issue.

The issue is now resolved, and the update has been released. If you're not sure whether you're affected, just select Online->Refresh Online Profile List.

To resolve this, please do the following:

Select Start->Run, and enter the following:

%localappdata%\DVD Profiler

From that directory, please delete the OnlineList.dod and OnlineListSel.dod.

You can then restart DVD Profiler normally.  We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to fix today's update.

Found and resolved this issue.  Will take a day or two to propagate.

What is the UPC of that entry, and are the disc IDs part of the current accepted contribution?

That wouldn't work, as the capitalization would have "corrected" the title again.  I've added logic for this kind of possessives, so you can now resubmit as "Marvel's The Avengers" and it should be left alone.

You're probably running into the limit of 1024 characters in the contribution notes.

Another peek.  This shot shows some of the available badges that can be displayed with thumbnails. There are several more options, and each can be pinned to a corner/moved/configured.

If we get the European Union involved, we'll never pick a standard!

I started with that one, and added the gold/black 4K logo afterwards. I'll see about making them switchable.  Frankly the naming schemes around 4K / Ultra HD / HDR / etc. are not incredibly well thought out imo.  The discs themselves most commonly indicate "4K ULTRA HD" in silver on black, and it seems the retailers prefer "4K".  Of course that has it's own issue due to "4K mastered Blu-ray".
