I am going to move this poll over from Intervocative to Invelos.  Please limit post to the type of player you have and why.  Arguments about which format is better shoul be placed in the other thread.

I didn't vote because I don't have a player at this point, but expect to have one by Father's Day.

I'm looking at the Toshiba HD-A2 and HD-A20 at this point.  That will satisify me for a couple years I hope.  Then I can re-evaluate the HD market and decide what my next step should be.

I own a Toshiba HD-XE1.  The "European name" for HD-XA2... I think.

Same for me, I guess.

Voted for: I am waiting for the cost of the players to come down. (could also apply to the dual format ones )

Looks like Best Buy will have the HD-A2 on sale next week for $299.  So I think I'm less than a week away from actually picking one up.

I own a HD-A1 and 213 HD DVDs as of this moment.  I've had the player since June and absolutely love it.

I don't have mine yet of course (sale starts Sunday), but I did go ahead and order my HDMI cable today.  $5.25 for a 6' cable from monoprice.com vs. about $120 for an HDMI cable from Best Buy.

Interesting.  According to High Def Digest, HD DVD only has 198 titles out.

I have a PS3 and 170 titles, but I haven't voted in this poll.

That's only US releases. As anyone knows, you're not a true fan unless you also own import discs. With lack of region coding on HD DVDs, you can play any HD DVD from anywhere in the world including some movies which are Blu-ray exclusive in the US.

Well said Xradman.  I own many BD exclusive movies like Underworld Evolution, Reign of Fire, Brothers Grimm and others on HD DVD.  Add to that classics like John Carpenter's the Fog, David Lynch's the Elephant Man and others.  Just because it contradicts what you can find online doesn't mean it's not true.  Take a look at my collection on DVD Profiler.  It only takes a click instead of trying to discredit me.

BTW, you have a very impressive collection in all seriousness.

I only have a EDTV, not a true HD, I use a computer to play DVDs at 720p which is just as good as an upconverting dvd player.  Untill I change my TV there's not need for a HD player.

I ordered my Toshiba HD-E1 last week but the seller seems to be out of stock. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

FYI: waiting for the format war to end is signaling to the HD content contribution studios that no one wants to buy their stuff. The worst that could happen is that they stop releasing HD content and then we are stuck with DVD only. For the first time we can actually buy HD content and people wait for a winner. I don't wait, I want to enjoy the new format.

I have decided to buy HD content because I refuse to buy a new movie in SD quality if there is a HD version of the same movie out there. Unfortunately not all studios release their content on both formats, therefore I won't buy anything from them at the moment if they don't release it on HD DVD.

If blu-ray wins (hope not, since I bought the HD DVD Player), well I am positively sure by then there will be combo players ot there supporting both formats. So it is not a loss if either blu-ray or HD DVD wins.
