Newbee.  I've been looking too at profiler for creating DVD covers.  Why - because I want to save cabinet space and move to slim-line cases.  Perfectly legit.  Don't need the text on the spine, but would like templates for landscaped front and back covers.  Haven't purchased yet because of this.

If you're moving to slimline case you can use the covers from your regular cases.  Unless the regular cases don't have covers either.

No reason not to buy the software.

I agree with Palmersh. I am converting my DVDs over to slimline cases and would very much like to know if it is possible to do this with rotated text on the spine (I want text on my spines). I am not going to chop up my regular sleeves to slide the into a slim case.

You don't need a report for that. Just print your DVD cover with your scanner...if you have them.

A report makes this MUCH easier. I have been doing it manually through Memorex Expressit, but that is just a PITA. Being able to run 1 report and get all 500 covers makes life much easier. As it is there is a slimline report that i am modifying to my own specs, but with the ability to rotate text/pics it would be much easier. However, I also believe that we are taking a very narrow view of this function. The ability to rotate objects is a relatively basic function and can be used for so much more that my personal uses. Becuase of that fact alone, it should be implemented.

The whole item concerns the fact that printing (or rotating) objects in reports makes it much easier to make sleeves for pirated DVD's. The program is already walking on thin ice concerning the use of cover images. Spines had to be removed to keep it legal.
However, if we may not manufacture something, or use something, or develop software because is it possible to (mis)use it for illegal actions, then how about guns, knives, phones, DVD-R, oh heck... the internet?

Jokerman's right - there are plenty of other uses for rotated images than just printing dvd covers. Either that or give us landscape reports!
