Hello!

I think there is a bug concerning the birth year of actors.

I have a profile where there are two copies of the cast -- due to an old bug of version 3.0.

So removed the second copy of the cast.

I did not change any other data.

But in the contribution it is reported that I'd added the birth year of John Cleese:

==>  http://img503.imageshack.us/my.php?image=kokos2av0.png

But the birth year of John Cleese is already contained in the data of the old profile.

If I call  "Online -> Refresh DVD from Invelos -> Refresh Profile and Images"  and try to change the cast you can see "John Cleese (1939)":

and in the second copy of the cast:

==>  http://img442.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cleese02yq6.jpg

My brother added absolutely freshly this profile to his collection and he sees also "John Cleese (1939)":

Someone managed to get John Cleese's BY past the screeners before they started getting more strict about their addition.
What's probably happened is you've downloaded an update to another profile containing John Cleese, and unfortunately at the moment the program automatically copies the BY to all other profiles containing him.
I don't think anyone would complain if you remove the BY and resubmit.

No, he shouldn't remove the birth year, because Ken said us not to do so. If they are already in the online db they should be left alone.

ukehh, just explain that you got this from another profile when you contribute.

The problem is, a lot of these BYs are finding their way in via the headshot database, therefore if a user has downloaded this, then the birth year will have bypassed the screeners.
How do we know if a birth year has been approved?
And in this specific case, I can't think of any other John Cleeses working in film!

Since people are stupid enough to use this headshot database when they know there are birthyears with it. I suggest for those who used the headshot database to delete all actors and do a refresh on every profile. then they will get the ones who have birthyear which is in the online database. The only way to be sure. Either that or don't contribute.

If I have understood ukehh right, then the birthyear is already in the online database. So all you have to do, if you contribute, explain this in the contribution notes. End of problem.
