Because I've seen regular dvd titles and the same dvd titles
but with The (white eclipse/blue flag) Canadian Home Video "PG" Rating logo on back
and then some have the actual Canadian Flag on back. |

Are you asking when to use Canada as a locality?
There are a number of Canadian only DVD distributors, and also sometimes US distributors will create separate US and Canadian releases (usually to accommodate a French language track).
I would say if it has the Canadian ratings on the back, then you can use Canada as a locality. |

| | Posted: | | | | My experience with Canadian releases is that there are often two, because of the two official Languages. In some cases there is just one, with the French in a smaller size on the front and both languages on the back. As mentioned, the film classification is often the Canadian one, and there are a few other little quirks. The UPC for Canada is often different, the pricing is not always the same, and so with Blu-ray discs I have had to take the US version of a movie, scan the Canadian Covers, change the UPC and Location and submit to the database. I guess it is all about how fussy you are  . Some studios publish identical DVD's for the Canadian market, with the same UPC and cover - I guess it is just up to who supplies it - because my profiler is set to Canada as a location, I have to change to US now and then if it is identical, but if different, I do as mentioned earlier... I simply explain I have used the DVD Profiler info for the Canadian Disc (the content is always the same in my experience) and just reflect the change in UPC location and scan the covers of the one I have. 1. Multilanguage cover (same UPC)
---- 097361-179261 (Shrek the Third)
---- Two profiles - one for Canada and one for Canada (Quebec) with the overview taking the appropriate language for the locality from the back cover
---- The English language is first and sometimes in a larger font than the French language
2. Single language cover (different UPC)
---- 786936-271898 (Cars: Widescreen) English
---- 786936-273342 (Cars: Widescreen) French
----------- French version cover is usually (but not always) multilingual, and French language is presented first
----Two profiles - one for Canada and one for Canada (Quebec) with the overview taking the appropriate language for the locality from the back cover | | | Peter
