 | | Posted: | | | | | | | I have come a cross a credit that I am not sure how to deal with.  This is for 'I Am Legend'.Screenplay by Mark Protosevich and Akiva Goldsman
 Here are the credits:

Based on the Screenplay by John William & Joyce H. Corrington

Based on the novel by Richard Matheson

The first is, obviously, a Screenwriter credit.
The third is, obviously, an OMB credit.
My question is on the second.  The words 'based on' tell me that it should be an OMB credit, but I want to be sure.  Opinions please.

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | I agree. The movie in question is based on both the previous screenplay and the novel, so both the second and the third credit should be entered as OMB. |

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | My first thought was "Screenwriter", but Martin had a point with his comparison which convinced me.
 So: OMB should be correct

Not necessarily.  Just like the writing credits are closely related, Screenwriter & OMB (writers) cars & trucks are closely related too (vehicles) | | | | | | Peter

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | Thanks for the replies.  I will submit with the OMB credit...current has them listed as 'screenwriters'. | | | | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
