It's also true the other way around. Let's asume someone in the United Kingdom uses a translation file with Production Sound Mixer translated as Sound Recordist, what do you think would happen if he wants to profile an American movie? In this case it's a good thing the Crew Entry Role beneath the Crew Entry List in the Edit Profile window is not translatable, because that way a translation file user is able to see what the original role name was. Not if you want to profile non-US movies, but that's another story.

I think the confusion may stem from the fact that there's a special role for Supervising Sound Editor but not one for Supervising Editor or Supervising Art Director.  I don't understand why this is so, what makes a Supervising Sound Editor someone we want to uniquely identify but not a Supervising Film Editor (Art Director).  It seems to me that a Supervising Film Editor is still a Film Editor -- and as long as the credit isn't Co-Film Editor or Unit Film Editor or Associate Film Editor, it doesn't violate the chart showing what can be contributed.

Prior policy seems to have been to credit Sup Film Eds as Film Eds (same for Art Dirs).

IF there's a particular reason why a Supervising Sound Editor is someone who deserves it's own role -- and a Supervising Film Editor does not or shouldn't be credited at all -- I wish someone would explain that.  Not that it matters, but I believe when Oscars are handed down for Film Editing the Supervising Film Editor would be one of the people up on stage getting a statue.  I doubt his staff would get the award and he wouldn't.  BTW: Don't tell me that this is DVD Profiler not Academy Award® Profiler.  I already know that.
