The update of the profile of "X-Files - Season 9" (uk) is faulty. That one changes the name of the title to "Saturn" or something similar. It also changes the coverscan and the infos to that "Saturn" title.
Please check that out.

I made that update, these were my contribution notes;

Quote:
Complete replacement of all data for this EAN. 5039036019620 is in fact 'The Mighty Saturns: Saturn I and IB' in effect the Region 1 version with a EAN stickered over the UPC. The current entry is for the 'The X-Files: The Complete 9th Season', as can be seen from the rear cover scan this has a completely different EAN and is therefore a bogus entry. This submission will correct this. All existing data replaced with the correct entry using the Region 1 as a template and adding the disc info. UK release date from Amazon.co.uk

Received one vote and was subsequently approved and released Jun 2 2008.

BTW, the only UK EAN's for 'The X-Files: The Complete 9th Season' are 5039036017060 for the digipak and 5039036018326 for the M-Lock re-release.

I am not so well versed in all this. Is there any way to rectify this or do I from now on always have to remove the x-files from the profiles to be updated?

Stephan:

The correction has been properly made for the UPC/EAN, based upon what I read. It was a bogus entry of X-Files; Season 9. You will notice that he points specifically that  "The current entry is for the 'The X-Files: The Complete 9th Season', as can be seen from the rear cover scan this has a completely different EAN and is therefore a bogus entry.

Now if you read the Rules

"The covers must match the profile exactly, including the UPC and locality."

So somebody created a an improper entry. You should delete the Mighty Saturns( that UPC) from YOUR collection and go find the CORRECT Profile for X-Files 9.

The way to fix this to change the ean on your copy in your desktop database so that it uses the correct EAN code (that on the back cover). In the program it is DVD / Change EAN. Then if you preview the new version you should find the correct x-files dvd set

And then I am left wondering how this problem came about in the first place... Why does hobnobgoblin replace a - according to his notes - UK-locality (region 2) title with a region 1 profile (which would be locality US or Canada)?

Or did I miss the point completely?

(No, I'm not saying any of you are wrong - I'm just wondering if I misunderstood his notes.)

The Region 1 of 'The Mighty Saturns: Saturn I and IB' was used as a template to build a Region 2 UK profile. 20th Century Fox UK have basically imported the Region 1 NTSC package and put a EAN sticker over the UPC. The cover was rescanned to reflect this of course but much of the the basic data remains the same.
