Now $59.86 at Tower.com

Nooooooooooooo.

Ah heck, two dollars difference only.

Besides never having ordered from Tower... Is that the online leg of Tower Records (which I have done many in-shop purchases at)?  In which case I'd say I'd trust them.

EDIT:
Yes, it's indeed the same Tower...

Hmmm, also the "Halloween Starter Pack" which I order together with the Godfather set is slightly cheaper. I'll have to investigate tonight what shipping costs are; I may have found a new retailer for me...

Anyone have experience with Tower? What are your recommendations, Tigi?

I've used them - no trouble. Takes a few days for the delivery to get to me but apart from that.
Any saving is a good saving..

I didn't know this retailer until two or three months ago, either. I have ordered from them several times since, always without any problem. The delivery time to Germany is comparable to Amazon and, in contrast to Amazon, the packages obviously didn't go through customs. Packaging was also good. So, highly recommended from me.

Funny thing is, they seem to be constantly watching the Amazon prices and always go a bit lower. So I already expected them to decrease the price for "The Godfather" under $60, and they did.

Thanks Paul and Michael for your comments. The other item I had ordered at Amazon was also $1 cheaper and shipping also a few bucks, total coming down to saving of $7! Not bad, really; as Paul said, any saving is good saving.

I'll think I may switch the order over and see how it goes. Also, as I have some more stuff I want to buy, I'll check out all those prices and see what that rings up.

This arrived from Amazon today.  Haven't had a chance to watch any of it yet, but I do have one comment about the packaging.

Fail.

Who's bright idea was it to create a 10-page booklet that doesn't fit inside the keepcase or the slipcover?  They used that special stretchy glue/epoxy stuff to attach the booklet to the back of the slipcover, but once detached has no where to go.  Would it really have been that hard to cut a couple millimeters from the top and the bottom of the booklet to make it fit inside the slipcover along with the keepcase?  I mean, I guess I could do that myself, but feel like I'd be damaging a "Collector's" item by doing that.  So, what the hell to do with this booklet now?

I'd put money on a bet this is the same booklet they made for the DVD version which fits very nicely inside that keepcase or slipcover, but they didn't want to spend the extra money on separate booklets for the blu-ray version.

Yes. I was thinking the same thing right after I detached mine. There was a disconnect of disbelief as I tried to put it in the case thinking on the one hand that there's no way they would do something so dumb...and then realizing that's exactly what they did.    Well, if you shove it really hard, it will go in. I'm sure it will be all nice and crumpled and out of shape later, but I got it in there. Really lame.

I previewed disc 1 and it's terrific.  So I feel a little better. But that booklet situation is really stupid.

It fits fine....

If you put it in before putting the other case back in.

Also, make sure that you don't slide it all the way in at first, slide the keep case in, then slide the rest of the book in. This does not bend, damage, or mutilate the book.

Luckily got this for AUS$43 when the online store here made a mistake and listed it as a single BD price instead of a boxset

Best Buy has the Godfather Collection (Blu) on sale for only $41.99 right now.

I went ahead and ordered it for store pick-up at that price...and used a $5 rewards coupon too.
