Hello, I am a long time user of DVD Profiler and am also a software developer by day, so decided I wanted to create a plugin and wanted to test the waters for either interest and/or if this plugin already exists (hey, why re-invent the wheel?).

I would like to write a plugin that will take your mssql/mysql/postgresql database information, and then dump your entire DVD list to it.  Would anyone here have interest in something like that, or point me to a plugin that already does this?  I saw there is a CSV plugin, but I'd rather not have to make a CSV, then manually import it every time I buy a DVD.

I'm not sure what I'd do with it, but it would be interesting.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

Right, it really would only be useful to someone who uses one of those databases, just figured I'd test the waters and see if there is anyone who'd like it.  My need for it is that I'd like to build it into my personal website.  If/when I get it going I'll go ahead and post a "New Plugin" thread up here.

There is something called phpDVDProfiler around, they do import the XML-Export via php to a mysql-database, you might have a look at that. Or the other way around: maybe such a plugin would be interesting for them? Building the table lokal and just upping that?

Interesting, yeah that's the step I'd like to avoid.  I've looked around on this site, is there somewhere I can download an SDK or something?  I don't see what is used to build a plugin.  I clicked the "request access" to the plugin developer section a couple days ago but still no replies.

thats the only way - just be patient, Ken is working on the new version right now - maybe tied up or not opening it up until the new version is out... judging by the beta.... anything you develop for 3.1 will need to be re-worked for 3.5 anyhow because there are lots of new data fields and options.
