BECAUSE IT IS FOR DVD (oh sorry, thought you were yelling) content.  More generally digital video discs of all sorts.

From the rules about what should be contributed to the database (note the video games are mentioned but have a context):

Contribute only the following items to the main database:

    * "DVD Video, HD-DVD Video, and Blu-ray Video" discs (including MiniDVD): These discs contain movies, television shows, music performances and other professionally-produced and sold DVDs. No CDs, DVD-Audio discs, video games, Video CDs, or VHS titles will be accepted.
    * “DVD Video”: These discs, included as bonus discs with CDs or video games are accepted, but only contribute the DVD Video information.
    * Dual-Disc DVDs (which store both “DVD Video” and “DVD Audio” information): These can be contributed, but include “DVD Video” information only.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

AS TWEETER (SORT OF) INDICATED PER THE RULES YOU cannot contribute them , but what you do locally is your business. I repeat they are not contriubutable and thus there is nothing to download from the data base.

Exactly  ,, You could manually put anything you want into the data base including CD's , Books, and even household Inventory.., as long as you can work around the whole DVD 'named prompts' and their  ' listing properties'  in creating your own 'little inventory'  listings...

It doesn't have features like Profiler, but if someone is simply looking for a way to catalog their video games/CDs/VHS tapes/etc, and has a website to store the catalog on, I cataloged my CD collection with the MySQL script MediaShelf, available here

And for cataloging your library, there is nothing better than Library Thing (after nearly three college degrees, my library of out-of-print textbooks is impressive!).
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.
