Sylvania/Emerson/Funai  :  Remote Part# NF602UD
TV/DVD Combo's: FXV8266, LD155SL8, LD200EM8, LD200SL8
http://www.sylvaniaconsumerelectronics.com/pdf/om/LD155SL8.pdf

Wife purchase this little 15" LCD ATSC-HDTV/DVD 720P combo from local K-Mart Store on close out {hey for $140 we felt it was a steal!} For her home office and they gave her a remote thinking that it was the correct remote for the set as it turned off/on, and changed channels on the set.

But the remote given to us did not have DVD functions....

I have 'JP1' programmable remotes..
Will be programing either a RCA810/B or a Radio Shack remote.

Any help here finding the correct codes??
Or suggestion on a low cost preprogramed remote that would have the codes??
Since we do not have the original remote can not just learn the codes!!

I found this replacement for $29.95 using Google.

Seems like a reasonable way to go. I also saw your post in the other forum, where I pulled the remote nodel number from the pdf file you supplied. (Edit: oh now I see you also had that in your post here).
Thanks for your support.

Hi,

KMart has a 6 Device Learning Remote for $14.99.  It shows the codes for your TV/DVD unit and also provides the Open/Close function for the DVD tray that is absent on most universal remotes.  I have mine programmed for 2 DVDs, a stereo receiver, a VCR, as well as my TV.  I had to do a code search for my Polaroid TV but all the other unit's codes were listed.  I did use the learning feature for one function on the TV and that slowed down how quickly the TV responded to key presses.  This is a bit annoying but nothing like the annoyance I feel when I have to switch from one of the original remotes to another.

I highly recommend it.

Jim

I neglected to identify the remote as the "Philips Universal Digital DVD 6 Device Learning Remote PMDVD6

I know you already have a remote, but might I suggest you look into the Harmony remotes from Logitech. there are no codes to learn. It is programmed via usb to their website which has the codes for just about everything. I have one and love it. When you program the remote it duplicates all functions the original remote had. One of the best features is that since you are flashing a prom when you change the batteries you don't lose the programming. You might want to check it out.

For what it's worth, Harmony ain't all it's cracked up to be.  My brother got one for my mother Xmas before last, and did all the set up on his notebook PC while he was here.  Had nothing but trouble with the thing.  She went back to using four remotes -- clunky but reliable.  I tried the thing a few months ago on my system, figuring that since I was more "tech savvy" than she was, I could make it work right.  Not even close.  Tried to give it back to my brother when he was here over Xmas and he didn't even want it back.  Btw, this was their top of the line model.

Perhaps you had a bum remote or something.  You also didn't mention what model of the Logitech Harmony you were using.

I've had great success with the Harmony ONE remote, it's amazing.  It too is programmed through your computer via USB.  It's also touch screen, which works great.  The only thing it doesn't have is BlueTooth, so I can't control my PS3 with it.

It's not cheap, but it replaced a lot of remotes for me:
Motorola Dual Tuner HDTV PVR
Yamaha 7.1 HDMI Reciever
Sharp AQUOS 52" LCD TV
XBOX 360 Elite
HP Media Center PC

Logitech Webiste link to Harmony ONE

I'm not discounting the troubles you had with your particular remote, just providing another perspective on the Harmony remotes.
