| | Posted: | | | | I wasn't sure if I should post this here or on the contribution forum (since it does have to do with having the correct audio for the database) but anyway.... I got a few Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) DVD's for Christmas. When I'm playing oneof them on my home theater system, I can clearly hear sound coming out of all 5 speakers. But playing with the audio button on the remote it says the option are 2 channel English & 2 channel Spanish. So should the audio list as Dolby Digital (that much I am sure of) Stereo or 5.1. Most of the older UFC dvd's in the database are listed as Dolby Digital Stereo, but for a lot of those I haven't checked on the actual home theater system. |

| | Posted: | | | | I would say that iy depends on how the audio channels are encoded on the DVD, just because your system plays back through all channels doesn't make the DVD all channel.
I can set my amp to override the default channels (Enhanced Mode) so as to get sound from all channels.
Best way to find out would be via your DVD drive in your computer and use a free program called "IfoEdit" to analyse the DVD. IfoEdit will not only tell you the audio tracks available on a DVD but also Regions, Subtitles etc.
