| Posted: | | | | I set up a separate media type for Manufactured On Demand (MOD, eg. Warner Archive Collection and similar) and found that it wiped out the anamorphic tick boxes. Could we have the ability to select anamorphic for custom media types please. [fixed my error from "collection types" to "media types" ] | | | ...James

If you select a media type, other than DVD, the '16 x 9 Enhanced' check box is greyed out. James is requesting that this restriction be removed when creating custom media. While I don't use custom media types, I can see how this would be annoying. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Before we end up on page 14 by this time tomorrow... I think Anamorphic absolutely should be a new media type!!! There, now someone claimed it. That person (me) is dead wrong because it makes as much sense as saying a pencil should be tears. And Skip is right. It is crazy. Now let's move along with James' valid and good request. The 16x9 boxed shouldn't be greyed out on custom media types. I don't use them myself (at this point in time). But I can clearly see the need. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | As a work around; edit the profile set media to DVD and set anamorphic, save and create a profile file. Edit again and set media to the custom type and save. Double click on the profile file and select Accept Partial and only video formats. The anamorphic flag will stick , until you edit the profile | | | Registered: February 10, 2002 |

Since I've been doing a lot of editing of my MOD titles, I decided I couldn't use that work around. What I'm doing now is marking them as both DVD and MOD. That allows me to use the anamorphic check box while still using MOD as a media type. Incidentally, what caused me to create MOD as a media type is that MODs don't work well in all players (particularly my laptop ). And since I have about 70 of them now, I figured that was good enough reason for me to segregate them into their own media type. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | Not ideal maybe, but what you can do for such profiles is select a new media type (MOD) and at the same time keep the DVD box checked as well. After all, a MOD is a DVD, even if not all DVD's are MOD.
By doing that, the checkbox for anamorphic remains available. You also get two logos, if you created a separate one for MOD.
edit: you can also keep your region setting, because not all MODs are region 0. | | | Hans | | | Last edited: by Staid S Barr |

| Posted: | | | | I'd like to bring this up again and add a proposal:
It would be great, if the custom media types could manage not only the media banners but also the features, which belong to specific types of media: - PAL/NTSC - 16x9 Enhanced aka. Anamorphic - Region code A single check box for each of the features, when setting up a media type, should be enough.
And when I start thinking about the definition of media types: It would be great, if the customization of the banners could offer the default banners to select. A fourth radio button "Use Default Banners" with an attached drop down, which offers the existing default banners. | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |
