I don't believe that this has anything to do with the actual lenght of the submitted post, but the time you take to write the post. If typing takes long enough, submit fails every time and you loose everything you have just written. Very annoying At the moment you have to remember to take copy to clipboard before submit.

I agree that this should be fixed, but in the meantime you can work around the problem by doing a Preview now and then.

I have to agree too, not that I write long post that often but it happened to me once and I was annoyed.

Of course now I take no chances and do the preview workaround.

That's not really a good workaround since the same happens if you use too much time between hitting preview. And we don't know how long is too long. Only reliable method is to copy your text to clipboard before submit or preview.

It's annoying but unfortunatley a necessity. Connection timeouts help reduce the amount of memory resources that are consumed by idle connections. They also help prevent denial of service attacks on the server. Response timeouts prevent malicious or malfunctioning clients from consuming resources by holding a connection open with minimal data. I'm not sure what setting is used on invelos's server, I think the default may be 120 seconds, but I'm sure it's longer than that. For security reasons, I don't think it can be turned off.

Setting used is a bad one, or a wrong one, take your pick . I read several forums and none of them have this "feature" or it is configured so that it doesn't make users life difficult. Compared to other forums this is tiny what comes to simultanious logged in users. At the moment there are 20 logged in users so the performance cannot be the issue. If the setup is actually 120sec, that's rediculous You have 2min time to type your text or you loose it all when you want to preview or submit.

One way to solve the problem is create your message in Office or Wordpad or after complete the message execute a Control A control C submit it then if it does not go, then you can copy the message in again submit it with no time constrains. I do this every time because I'm so slow typing.

I type in on the invelos site. But, I try and remember to copy it before I hit Preview or Submit.

But, even if I forget nothing I've rambled on about is that important anyway.

Same here. In fact, since it's often because I am explaining or trying to give instructions that I end up typing so much, having it all erase ends up making me rethink things and I usually end up with something more concise which I'm sure is appreciated over reading a bunch of rambling.

New symptom. Earlier you got error message and lost your writing, but now you get directed to Invelos home page and lost your text as well.

Btw, I waited 240 seconds before I clicked on Submit. Worked.

Anyone who dares to try 6 minutes?

I remember using this cumbersome method when I was on a 2400 bps dial-up connection on Fidonet BBS systems. But that was back in 1990-91, not 2012 and 20 Mbit fibre.

It should work now for longer posts, taking as long as an hour.
