is there a way for me to add the disc id for the 3d for this title without a dvd rom? I tried adding it in with the disc id in the main profile but it wont allow me to properly.

I want to make another child profile so I have one for 3d and 2d child profiles in 3d and 2d.

The 3d Thor and Captain America are this way in the database but not Ant Man

No, you need a BD-ROM to be able to add the disc ID.

Which UPCs are you referring to?

I guess I'm not understanding the Thor and Captain America examples.  Both only have child profiles for the Blu-ray 2D and DVD.

If you want to do this for your local database, the BulkEdit plugin will allow you to create child profiles from the disc-ids. Please be aware this is not according to the contribution rules and should not be contributted.

I agree with both of these. If I understand your question correctly, you want to create a disc-based child profile for the 3D disc, but wouldn't that basically be the same as the main profile? I only have the Ant-Man 3D set, but I looked at the Thor & Capt America sets, and all 3 looked set up the same way to me...3D profile as the main profile and the 2D as a child profile, as it should be. That being said, you can do whatever you want in your local db, but creating an extra 3D child profile would not be contributable.

well that is not the case for the Avengers in my database 786936819670, it has a child with proper id for the 3d, bluray and dvd.

So for instance if one day I watched the 3d nad another day the bluray it would define each with the proper disc id and the watched history would be more accurate.

but the other Marvel 3d movies in the database only list the main profile via upc and the bluray as a child via disc id as everyone has stated.

seems like the latter would give bad watched history, Am I wrong?

Maybe you have it set up that way in your local database?  I just double checked my database and the online database and that UPC doesn't have the 3D disc listed a child profile (box set contents); the main profile does have all three disc IDs listed.

Honestly, I think it would be better if we had the option to mark each disc ID (or TV episode dividers) as watched rather than having to have separate child profiles.

I have seen them in the database wrong (the way your prefer)... but it is not correct per rules. It should be like the bonus film rules. Main profiler being the high def release... with the DVD as a child profile. In case of blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD combos...

I asked that on the forum once before and most everyone seemed to agree it should be

Blu-ray 3D
- Blu-ray
- DVD

but not as a box set with 3 childs. The way above you can correctly use the watched feature.

Are you referring to UPC 043396439344?

If so, it appears to be correct.  That profile has discs IDs for all discs in the release and only the boxset (child) profile for the Blu-ray.  All disc IDs should be added to the main or parent profile and child (additional) profiles for the secondary discs may optionally be added to the parent as box set content.

It's not, adding a disc ID entry is different than adding a separate child profile as a box set.  There may be confusion as to what you're referring to.  When editing a profile,

1) Disc IDs can be added under the "Discs" option; this only stores the disc ID
2) A second (child, grandchild) profile can be linked to another profile through the "Box Set Contents" option.  This allows you to download full profiles, like the main profile, that have been linked to the main profile.

Here's what the Stalingrad 3D (UPC 043396-439344) profile currently shows:

Discs
Main Feature (BD 3D) - 7E4885AB9B2E4EC7 - Stalingrad_(2013)_3D - Single-Sided - Double-Layered
Main Feature (BD) - 7C4CB600C0B5F993 - Stalingrad (2013) - Single-Sided - Double-Layered

Box Set Contents
(Disc ID: 7C4C-B600-C0B5-F993)

For Ant-man 3D (UPC: 786936-846737) the database currently shows:

Discs
Main Feature (BD 3D) - A5C1B81D93E2DC2B - MARVELS_ANT_MAN_3D - Single-Sided - Double-Layered
Main Feature (BD) - EB2BC653DF02ABC1 - MARVELS_ANT_MAN - Single-Sided - Double-Layered

Box Set Contents
(Disc ID: EB2B-C653-DF02-ABC1)

Gasp!

It was not my intent to make something that violates database rules!!!!

I will start a poll in the plugins Forum to get some advice on what to do.

Of course, generally creating child profiles from disc-ids is not in violation of the rules. Doing so in this case created a profile that violated the rules.
