| Posted: January 26, 2008 11:19 PM | | | | The current profile contains a crew entry for "Bud S. Smith, credited as Bud Smith". Further research has shown me that he isn't even credited ONCE with that alledged middle initial in my entire database; he's credited simply as "Bud Smith" every single time, like he is here, too. Invelos' own "credit lookup" tool confirms my suspicions: Bud Smith - 106 entries, Bud S. Smith - 91 entries. So even though the database is still heavily polluted with IMDb-data (they do use the middle initial), the "Bud Smith" credits have already taken the clear lead, and as more profiles get corrected to reflect the actual credits, I fully expect that the difference will become much bigger. Anyway, based on the current "credit lookup" tool results, "Bud Smith" is his common name for DVD Profiler purposes, and as such, he can simply be entered AS CREDITED into this particular profile. | Posted: February 2, 2008 9:02 AM | | | | The current profile contains a cast entry for "Barbara Harris, credited as Barbara Iley". After some more research, I'm convinced this is wrong. The "credits lookup" tool isn't really helpful, since there are other actresses named Barbara Harris. But a simple look at her IMDb-entry (www.imdb.com/name/nm0364456/) will show you what I mean (I'm not using IMDb as a source here, people, not to worry: merely using it as an example to question the correctness of said database). You'll see hundreds of apparent "Barbara Harris" credits for "voice casting" (something we don't track in DVD Profiler), but if you look at her actual cast entries, she's credited as Barbara Iley every single time. I therefore suggest we use that as her "common name", and as such, she can simply be entered AS CREDITED here. Evaluate this contribution Profile Contribution Approved Feb 5 2008 10:04AM |

| Posted: August 31, 2008 1:15 PM | | | | The current profile contains a cast entry for "Candace Cameron Bure, credited as Candace Cameron". Further research has shown me that this use of the "credited as" feature is not necessary - have a look at Invelos' own "credit lookup" tool results: Candace Cameron: 45 entries, Candace Cameron Bure: 14 entries (mostly incorrect IMDb-mined ones). Since "Candace Cameron" is the most-credited form, she can simply be entered AS CREDITED into this particular profile. Evaluate this contribution Profile Contribution Approved Sep 3 2008 6:43AM |

| Posted: October 19, 2008 2:26 PM | | | | The current profile contains a cast entry for "Robert Knudson, credited as Buzz Knudson". Further research has shown me that this use of the "credited as" feature is not necessary - have a look at Invelos' own "credit lookup" tool results: Buzz Knudson: 338 entries, Robert Knudson: 294 entries (with lots of incorrect IMDb-data). Since "Buzz Knudson" is the most-credited form, he can simply be entered AS CREDITED into this particular profile. Evaluate this contribution Profile Contribution Approved Oct 21 2008 2:20PM |

Further research has shown me that this use of the "credited as" feature is no longer necessary - have a look at Invelos' own "credit lookup" tool results: Josan Russo: 35 entries, Josan F. Russo: 6 entries. Since "Josan Russo" is the most-credited form, she can simply be entered AS CREDITED into this particular profile. | Posted: June 26, 2009 7:09 AM | | | | ADDED: Rating details from box. 3.5 crew with credited as from credits. Information taken from box/disc/credits in accordance with contribution rules. Verified using Power DVD and DVD Decrypter. Any use of Credited As has been researched on the internet and then supported by the Credit Lookup Tool. NOTE: I do not add Costume Supervisors etc. if there is a Costume Designer present; so if you're interested in these credits you will need to add them yourselves. | Posted: September 27, 2009 6:23 PM | | | | The current profile contains a crew entry for M. Scott Smith, credited as Scott Smith". Further research has shown me that this use of the "credited as" feature is no longer necessary, probably as a result from more and more IMDb-mined data being corrected. Have a look at Invelos' own "credit lookup tool" results: Scott Smith: 78 titles, M. Scott Smith: 27 titles (partly still IMDb-mined data). Since "Scott Smith" is now the most-credited form, he can simply be entered AS CREDITED into this particular profile. Also note that sound mixer David MacMillan (correct common name already in the profile) is actually credited as "David Macmillan" here. | Posted: March 31, 2010 1:49 PM | | | | Rules update: "A Special Effects Coordinator can be added & credited when No Special Effects Supervisor is credited anywhere in the credits." As such, I've added the Special Effects Coordinator from the end credits. The David MacMillan change is caused by a new automated contribution filter as explained by Ken here. | Posted: August 26, 2011 9:54 AM | | | | Two common name-finding threads have shown that we need birth years for two different Scott Smith's in our database: Film editor M. Scott Smith's (1959) common name is Scott Smith, as documented here. Production sound mixer Scott D. Smith's (1953) common name is Scott Smith, too, as documented here.
