  Platoon
I haven't seen this movie for years and I finally picked up a copy of on DVD for only $9. It was part of the 20th Century Fox 75th Year Celebration. Anyway, it's a brilliant war film with strong characters and it’s a brutally accurate depiction of the conflict in Vietnam.

4/5 (I liked it more than my wife. Her rating would be perhaps a 3 or 3.5) |

2.5/5 Disappointing despite the excellent casting. I found it to be very disjointed and thin on plot. | | | <---------Mithrandir, Laverne and Shirley Caroline |

3.5/5 (Nice movie but nothing really new for the genre) Me too for the film, me too for the rating. 09/01/2010 An Officer and A Gentleman (4/5 - much better than I remembered it, Louis Gossett, Jr. is phenomenal). 08/31/2010 The Lion King (4.5/5) Sophie's Choice (5/5 - brilliant... only had seen it once and remember being bored shiitake mushroomless, but I'm older and can appreciate it better now, loved every second of it, was captivated). 08/30/2010 Gandhi (4/5) Kiss of the Spider-Woman (4.5/5) I'm on an 80's kick it seems!     | | | | The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play. |

3/5 (interesting premise, stylish photography, not enough depth and story and style and characters, Denzel Washington lame as almost always) | | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect] |

Not my favorite Disney movie, but has a few chuckles and John Goodman in it, which is my main reason for owning it. | | | | Lori |

I use to love watching this when I was kid. I'm not a fan of a TV series but the movie is very entertaining however it does get a bit lame at the end.

2.9/5 (the weakest of Emmerich's disastrous movies, slow, frittered, Quaid listless, phoney human touch, mediocre water/snow/ice/wolf effects) | | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect] |
