| Posted: | | | | for years and years and years i was able able to find new titles - either coming in the next 60 days or already released and I mean major star Hollywood films not small independent obscure films .. ran into this.. a few times in the last few months and today I was looking for Susan Saranden's new film and dvd release Sept 6th ( a week ago ! ) The Meddler yet there is no title of this in Canada/ USA locality .. I'm sure it is in the data under other country's .. but this was warranted enough for me to post about this today .. not happy . . ( sure I could do it my self .. and probably will but the jest of my post was this has never occurred before . I do believe that buying and adding new titles to ones library is slowly coming to an end , and slow death ..) | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | I think it's all relative to the titles you have but yes, I've noticed this long ago. Not only with smaller independent releases but with releases from larger studios such as Disney's animated releases. Years ago, when I received a new release, on release day, it was likely the information for the profile had already been contributed so there wasn't much left, if anything, to contribute.
Some of it may have to do with a subset of people who, were big contributors, have since lost interest in the software and have moved on, or may even have passed away, after all these years. But I really believe a larger part of it has to do with a large segment of folks which has since been chased away by all of the disagreements and arguments about contributions. I'm sure a smaller part is also the update frequency of adding new features to the program.
But for quite a while, most of the profile updates for the titles I own tend to be CLT or birth year cast/crew updates even though the rest of the data in the profiles aren't complete. |

| Posted: | | | | I am going to have to disagree with your assertion that this was a 'major star Hollywood film'. I had never heard of it so I clicked your link. On that page there is a section called "People who liked this also liked..." I clicked on the one film on that list I had heard of, actually watched it last night, 'Money Monster'.
Opening weekend, Money Monster was shown on 3,104 screens Opening weekend, The Meddler was shown on 4 screens reaching a max of 434 screens for one weekend mid run.
Money Monster grossed $41,012,075 The Meddler grossed $4,259,460
And finally, it was released by Sony Pictures Classics which, by their own admission, "distributes, produces and acquires independent films from the United States and around the world."
Granted, this film stars Susan Sarandon, but that doesn't change the fact that it is an indie film and that's probably why it isn't in the database. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. ( IOW didn't turn it off after 15 minutes like I did with .. , Avengers , Tomorrowland , and even DeadPool ..) | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | I must say... I haven't seen this problem art all. But then I don't buy new releases like I used to. Only a few here and there now. But always had a profile for anything I have ordered.
Like Martian I never heard of the ones you mention. So who knows. | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | the whole upcoming new releases ('add DVD's to your collection) ' area is strange too, as the last week it goes to is Xmas 2016 with a title called 'Hey Bartender' ( documentary special interest ) yet that title for sure I have never heard of and it is from 2013 .. Interesting though about 9 out of every ten titles submitted- has the Amazon Crest which to me looks like Invelos and Amazon have a pack/link together for the Amazon titles to be displayed or advertised under the Invelos Profiler Program ( add dvd's ) as the price street date is displayed soem with cover art some without .. yet somehow The Meddler got missed . .
( and who knows How many others .. ) So does anyone know about this Amazon link for up coming titles ?? | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | The last new profiles I had to create were Justice League vs Teen Titans 5051890304056, Mercy Mission: The Rescue of Flight 771 4009750246870 and the Blu-ray version of the original's Battlestar Galactica pilot-episode-to-movie 4020628837198.
None of which I'd consider mainstream. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

I didn't say it didn't have star power nor did I say it was a bad movie. What I said, perhaps in a round about way, was it is an indie film with a limited release which might explain why it hasn't been contributed. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Those are Amazon affiliate links that Invelos added to the program. Invelos receives a percentage of any purchases you make at Amazon if you click through those links. |

| Posted: | | | | in the last year or so i have had top create a profile for a few blu-ray releases and they have been top films or tv series.
I don't mind doing it as it keeps the system going. I mainly scan the covers and put in as much detail I can, I leave cast and crew etc until I have time to update it.
Not sure why new profiles are not being created as often, could be down to digital streaming and people no longer buying physical copies. |

| Posted: | | | | Typically, if I buy 10 movies, I'll have to create profiles for 3-4 of them. the reason for this is two-fold:
1. The fact that I'm in Canada, with different UPCs for some titles, and there are fewer people creating profiles here. If I wait, someone eventually creates them, most of the time, but for the 10 minutes it takes to create a clone, I just do it. 2. A large factor is that I tend to buy a lot of obscure horror. Just in the last month, I've created 3 or 4 "new" profiles for older horror movies (Pre-2016 releases) that didn't exist in the database at all, not just clones of existing profiles, like one would create for a new UPC. | | | Last edited: by 69samael69 |

| Posted: | | | | Again I have to bring this topic to the for front Again .. I see that Invelos is falling behind in New dvd/BD releases .. this time., ( apart from The Meddler (2015) Still NOT being listed ) I see that Cafe Society is set for release in just 7 days !! yet in the 'add dvd section' coming soon' section - The week of Oct 18th - Amazon is listed for 'Teen Wolf Season 5 part 2' .. Yet no Woody Allen movie .,, Invelos and Amazon shouldbe linked 'one on one' for New listings ., as this would pursues interest and Buying power .. between all partys .. am I right? or not? .. ( and please don't respond with 'there is no interest in Woody Allen' ... only "made for cable" films like Teen Wolf season 5 .. part two) .. ( sorry Pete ) .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | I am partial to TV series... that is for sure. I just got a blu-ray copy of Cell (new film off a Stephen King story)... it was just released 2 weeks ago... and it is fully profiled. I have not had many that was not already profiled and more times then not it was because I had a different UPC/version then what was already in the database.
I just haven't seen the same problems you have with this. | | | Pete |

I, personally, have no interest in Woody Allen and, just for the record, Teen Wolf season 5 part two is not a 'made for cable' film, it is a TV Series that had, at least, 5 seasons as this particular release is season 5. As for new releases, I purchased two today and two last week and all four were in the database. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. am I right? or not? I believe the coming soon section is based on upcoming contributed profiles to the database and not upcoming titles listed on Amazon. Point being, if no one adds the upcoming title to the Invelos database then it won't show up in the coming soon section. |
