I figured since it seemed to be a trend with almost all the others that post in this thread, I'd give it a go.

Who said life was fair, right?

The problem with that reasoning is your whole stance has been that all you are doing is spreading the truth.  You have said that over, and over, and over again.  We have always maintained that what you are really doing is spreading your version of the truth.  As I have said before, the only person you were fooling was yourself...I guess you finally decided to stop doing that.

HD DVD came out of the bat last year delivering lots of top notch encodes and Blu-ray came out with a player with noise reduction turned on full blast and several poor transfers.
Now both formats have their game under control, or do they?

It's been a year since Blu-ray was launched.  Here's a look at the first 20 reviews for HD DVD and Blu-ray up against the last 20 reviews.

For this, High Def Digest, Home Theater Spot, Home Theater Forum and DVD Talk were used.

Here's something interesting I've noticed for a while now.  You post this information as if it were your own.  But I read that exact post, word for word, yesterday at AVSForum.  And you were NOT the author.

If you're going to post crap like this, at least do the proper thing and indicate that you copied someone else's words.  It's only polite.  Something as simple as "I found this posted elsewhere:" would do.

Rumors, speculation and now plagiarism?  This is just too much.

That's right...don't attack the information because you can't.  Everytime I post a link it's from someone else (just like anyone else).  Why scream plagiarism, now?  Why not scream plagiarism on yourself?  This isn't a book or article.  How does your post make any sense?

You guys are the real cream of the crop.  ...Real forward thinkers.

BTW, this is where I got the information from.  Dobyblue and I also converse sometimes as well on Blu-ray.com.  That's where we get part of our insider information from.

I declare shenanigans.

The numbers are arbitrary, subjective, meaningless, and the non-identified letters above the numbers even more so.

You post idiocy, and then declare that any 8th grader understands.

Garbage.

I asked two 8th graders, neither had ever seen number like yours... meaningless without context. What is a PQ? What is SQ? What exactly is being totalled? Are these average 1-to-4 star ratings? By whom & why should we care? On what objective scale are these numbers drawn, or are they by paid reviewers who are shilling for their various formats? You refuse to explain and insult us while you continue to hold up these garbage numbers for us to oooh and ahhh at... We will not, because we can not.

Meaningless blather is all you offer us. And then you insult us when we call you on it. Obviously you are a terrible, rotten, no good version of a shill. If you cannot dazzle us with your footwork, you insult us while we heckle your lack of talent.

Either explain your numbers or quit posting with your nose-in-the-air attitude. I explained my attitude towards you and your post to you privately.

Numbers without context are completely meaningless. You post other peoples' words without credit. You pass yourself off as something you are not.

You are the biggest pain we have these days, making Skip's rants seem like a sunset-lit walk along Malibu Beach.

Explain yourself and these garbage numbers -- do not hide behind insults because you are unworthy to make them. Or stop, because your shilling is failing. Your actions are inept, and your mission has failed so the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I just heard from some source that Blockbuster has reversed their decision to be Blu-Ray exclusive and will go exclusively with HD-DVD.  Hollywood Video, in a rare bout of agreement, has also decided that they will only carry HD-DVD titles.  Looks like it's the landfill for Blu-Ray discs!

Multiple Blu-Ray player manufacturers are expected to go bankrupt due to the expected sudden decline in Blu-Ray player & disc sales.

It looks like the format war is over!

I realize I'm probably coming way too late into this discussion. There have been great comments in between the blatant Blue-Ray propaganda stuff.

As for me, I don't think I'm quite ready to take the plunge; very few of the current titles in both formats interest me. A few days ago, I watched 'Pirates of the Caribbean' at my friend's house and while of course the picture & sound quality are tops, I don't think I've ever rolled my eyes as much as I did with this pile of crap passing as a movie.

I couldn't care less which format ultimately wins, but something tells me this is still going to take quite a while. When Criterion starts releasing in HD format, I'll make the switch to whatever format they support.

Here we go. I like it.

The programming available in High Definition discs is woefully lacking -- Casablanca, and very few other films I want to see are available -- and both formats seem to be releasing recent blockbuster films, rather than films of historic/artistic/creative value.

Why bother spending hundreds of dollars on either format's player, when there is so very little content that I have any interest in seeing in high definition?

Keep posting, I like your thoughts.

I expected more from someone that has a much higher IQ than me.  You do know what IQ means right (since you seem to be having lapses in memory)?

We are in a website that is about DVDs...in a thread about Blu-ray and HD DVD...and all of a sudden people don't know what PQ and SQ means?  OMG!
I'm dealing with geniuses!

Well, boys and girls, PQ stands for picture quality.  You know...like when reviews on DVDs are done (like the ones in your collections) they say PQ.  Have you seen a DVD movie review from a major reviewer before, boys and girls?

When these DVD movies are playing, the thing you hear is called "sound".  Now, based on what you learned earlier with PQ, what does the "Q" in SQ stand for?  That's right boys and girls!  It stands for quality.  Therefore, SQ stands for "sound quality".  Very good, class!

School is now out for the night.

In other news, Fox has announced 22 titles for France.

Here is a link of the news in English.

Yeah, I figured that's what PQ & SQ stood for but the numbers still mean nothing.  The best guess is that Higher = Better but what's the scale? How are the numbers derived?  Does someone eyeball it and go "3!"?

The numbers prove how much Blu-ray has improved since inception.  They were a joke a year ago, but they've now pulled ahead of HD DVD in both picture and sound quality.  If you're a Blu-ray supporter.

Or the numbers are completely meaningless based on a huge number of reasons.  Because they're comparing different movies on different formats with no indication of any possible bias of the reviewer.  Or because it's "well known" that Blu-ray means the PS3 which in turn means they'll be getting the latest films in general (thus better source material) over the more mature HD DVD crowd and their wider spread of new and old (thus possibly worse source material).  If you're an HD DVD supporter.

At the end of the day, you read your own prejudices into the numbers to support whatever point of view makes you happy.
