You heard it here first folks. HD DVD is officially against God, Man, and all things good and decent. And anyone who does not immediately go out and support Blu ray by buying every machine and title currently available is effectively opening the gates to hell on earth. No wonder you have 0 credibility with statements like that. Such a joke...

Actually, it would be the other way around.  I see many possible outcomes based on the fact that we don't know all the variables involved.  I gave a couple of examples.  You, on the other hand, can only see one possible outcome therefore I see something you don't.

Yup, it does.

It says that I have no patience for, and will respond with scathing sarcasm to jumped-up jerk-off fanboys who try sway my opinion with fuzzy logic, skewed arguments, deliberate misrepresentations of the facts and scare tactics. If there was someone in here being as asinine in their defense of HD DVD they would receive the exact same treatment from me. But there isn't. Of course in your narrow little mind you probably think that eveyone who questions you and your 'methodology' is such a person. That of course is because of the pro-Blu Ray zealotry that has infected your soul and coloured your judgement to the point of virtual incapacitation. As Unicus has pointed out, you are capable only of seeing things one way and every other way is considered by you to be wrong, evil, or non-existent. I respect that you were an early adopter of BR, I really do and I hope you are satisfied with your choice for years to come, regardless of the outcome of the HD 'war'. I just despise the way you carry on and on and on and on in these forums. It is sad, desperate, annoying as hell, and cries out to be mocked. THAT is why you have an utter and complete lack of any credibility in these forums. It is not your choice we hold in contempt, it is you and your behaviour from day one (ok maybe it was day 2 or 3  ). Also it is extremely hard to respect someone who cares so little for this program that they cannot be bothered to participate in the building or improvement of the database. I mean, come on, you stand there on your high horse preaching to us that HD DVD is the death of optical discs, doom for the future of HD content and very likely will cause the self-destruction of the universe and you cannot even be bothered to cast a single vote on a pending contribution? It is you who are contemptuous of us, this forum and this program. Give us a break.

While I don't tend to be as... militant about this as bob here, I must say I feel much the same way.

Not just about Ascended_Saiyan, but for some reason the Blu-Ray format seems to have attracted people capable of this kind of holier-than-thou preaching about their format. They're common all around the net. Perhaps it's just the forums I go to, but I don't tend to see the same kind of zealotry and overall mocking behaviour coming from the hardcore HD DVD users. Passion, sure, but not to the point where they're belittling those who disagree with them.

And after a while that stuff gets old and annoying. I just wish the format war would go away so threads can stop being contaminated by this kind of behaviour. Hell, I'll even go as far as saying I'm spiteful enough to hope HD DVD wins just so I can watch their smugness turn into rage and despair. It would only be their just desserts after making us endure their superiority complex.

He does the same job under different names in multiple internet forums, he has no desire to help the Profiler community, he's just here to "do his job" - ie present as much totally biased pro-sony garbage as he can, but he manages to do so in the most obnoxious and infuriating manner known to man.

Personally I really think someone with such a blatant agenda, and so little input into Profiler should be banned from the forum.

In defence of his "24-bit PCM on BD versus everything else" he claimed he owned a Crestron Adagio, in other forums he lists a Sony STR-DA5200ES as his amp, hmm I wonder which it is....

I suspect it has something to do with the vast majority of Blu-ray users being PS3 owners. Everybody knows that console gamers are amongst the most fanboyish and rabid brand zealots around. They even try and spin it as a war between Sony and Microsoft rather than a competition between the BDA and DVD forum.

He's an Invelos customer and is allowed to express his opinions in the forms as we all are.  It would be potentially a PR disaster if they start banning people for this since he technically has broken no rules.

At least he isn't as adament as he used to be.

I see many possibilities, but I am able to narrow them down to a select few possibilities based on everything else surrounding that.  I tend to see how those elements effect each other.  That's why I said MAYBE I just see smething you don't.  There is no need to talk about this further.  It's not like you're trying to understand it or what I'm saying to you.  I shall save my words on this.

Don't you find it bit strange that you keep saying I have no credibility, but you have NEVER proved me wrong on my facts about Blu-ray and HD DVD.  That is not the correct usage of the words by any definitions, yet, you continue to incorrectly use them.  I guess you live by the ruling of manipulation...say a lie enough times and it will become truth.  That's not noble at all.  You seem to be a very hateful person.

You don't provide any factual evidence to oppose what I say about these formats.  You almost always just attack me, personally, instead.  Does that scream logic?  Does that scream good character?  Does that tend to show that you are correct?  Of course, not, but you continue none the less.  You appear to be blinded by hate and the truth will never reach you in that state.

Another way to look at this is that you know you've arrived as a home theater message board when you have your own pet blu-ray fanboy.  Welcome to the big time folks!

I say if you can't see true zealotry with the HD DVD side, something is terribly wrong.  I never deny a fact/truth.  I am biased by facts.  The same can not be said of the HD DVD side.  What facts are they biased by?  They do not have more facts in favor of them than Blu-ray does.  Therefore, if one chose a format based on facts in one's favor, the only logical choice wold be Blu-ray.  Based on facts alone there can be no other LOGICAL choice.  So, if HD DVD is not the logical choice based on facts, it automatically has to be something other than the logical choice.

I would be willing to have a list compiled on Blu-ray facts and have them weighed against a list of HD DVD facts to be judged by graymadder.  That seems fair.  Any takers?  If one wants to PROVE that I am wrong about Blu-ray, this is your time.  Of course, this would mean that HD DVD arguers would have to admit that they are not arguing based on facts and logic, if they should lose.

If no one will answer this challenge, we should all know whom argues from logic and whom does not.

I'm providing information on the topic when I'm not defending myself.  What about some of the others?  They should be banned from the forum, if you look at it logically that is.

It depends on which rooms you are talking about.

EDIT: I also have a couple high end Onkyo receivers if you must know.

Unless the challenge is accepted, you are not saying much of anything concerning HD DVD vs. Blu-ray (the topic of this thread)...period.
