Lets look at an example.........
Your plane takes off from Sydney on Saturday, September 1st at 11:00PM. After the 13.5 hour flight you arrive in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 1st at 7:30PM (Sydney is 17 hours ahead of LA). So its earlier than when you left right? But not so fast........
Your 11PM Sydney takeoff means you took off at 4AM Los Angeles time. So you took off at 4AM and landed at 7:30PM LA time. So no, unfortunately you did not travel back in time.
As a pilot, I have seen the sun rise twice in one calendar day. It does very bad things to your biological clock and circadian rhythm. |
