Come on people, I know multiple packagings is a shiny new feature, but please, apply some simply logic if you try to use this feature.
The slipcase around the digipak is not something additional as with those amarays+slipcase, the slipcase is just part of the digipak. It's not like you can buy a collector's version with the slipcase and one without, it's just the way digipaks are.

For the record I personally haven't done any contributions since the new beta version... but I can see a need for this.

Yes part of me agrees with you. it is usually a basic thing when it comes to digipaks... but far from always I have a good handful of digipaks that does not have the slip case as well. Just to name a few off the top of my head...

- All in the Family: Season 1
- The Dead Zone: Season 1
- Everybody loves Raymond (all seasons I have so far [3 seasons] - modified digipak that locks shut.)

All the above is indeed digipaks without a slip case over them. So yes I personally can see a need for this.

I can see your point, but I think other people have pointed out that it is possible to have a digipak without an accompanying slipcase, so in that case it may be that we do tick the box for digipaks that have them.
I haven't seen any official notes for this dilemma, so I'm undecided myself which is the right way.

No, it isn't part of the digipak.  You can take the slipcover from season 1 of '24' for example, and put keep cases in it if you felt like it.  The digipak is a set of disc holders attached to some sort of folding backing and THAT goes into the slip case after you fold it up.

All six seasons of 'Sex and the City' were also originally issued in non-slipcased digipaks.  In fact, I remember them specifically because I'd never seen that configuration before.

See, that is a release where I would put the sleepcover in the profile, because there are two versions. But just because you can use the slipcover for something it wasn't designed for doesn't make it not part of the digipak.

the point is... it gives us accurate information.. there is plenty of digipaks out there without slip covers out there and it will show that difference... so the more I think about this... the more I believe it is correct to use digipack with slip case checked.

If it isn't ATTACHED TO the digipak foldup unit, then it isn't part of it.  It is what it is -- a slipcase.

The upper part of a TIN is sometimes not attached to the lower part of the TIN. Therefor we need a new option for the lower part and the upper part.

Adding slipcover-info for DigiPaks adds accuracy. So why not use it?

I somehow don't see a need for that. Something like adding BluRay as a genre.

completely different... this is giving a more accurate case type... BluRay as a genre is just wrong info all together.

I could understand your initial post, Peter, assuming you don't own any of the available digipacks without an outer sleeve.

But after the information by several others, that these do in fact exist and are also present with fairly mainstream and well known titles, I don't understand why you still don't see the need for it.

there's two different types of digipacks out there, thiose with and those without an outer sleeve. We have the possibility to accurately track both, so why shouldn't we?

Just because one is a minority? We track even less common data by name with this program, so why disallow this?

Agreed; when I thought all digipaks must include a cover I would have questioned it as it could have been considered integral to the design of any Digipak but now people have pointed out a few that don't it seems perfectly logical and legal data to me...
