If digipacs are in slip cover then what is the purpose of a SLIP CASE ???

AIUI when a slip is around multiple keep cases(say) so essentially Slip Case = old Box Set case type which has just been renamed so as not be be confused with 'box set' info for child profiles.

Slip cover is a new feature/info to be added to most digipaks and when there's an outer slip on a single keep case etc.

Just for fun, when you have a box set (multiple keep cases in a cover) with an additional see through plastic slip over the top of the box I dare say that is case type "Slip Case, Slip Cover"... and yes I have at least one
It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong

All Correct.

You will not be able to check the slip cover checkbox in those (should be rare) cases.  It's this way to hopefully reduce confusion.

Not so rare I don't think... looking up at my shelves I can spot three examples right away:

- Alias Season 2 (3 keep cases in a slip case with plastic slip cover) [786936-227918]
- Arrested Development Season 2 (3 thin cases in slip case with plastic slip cover) [024543-206255]
- Chobits Collection (4 thin cases in slip case with plastic slip cover) [013023-262492]

Should not this contributions wait untill the version is out of betatesting?

Nope... Ken said it was ok to submit..

Contributions with this version are OK, however new case types will not display properly in older versions, and the slip cover checkbox setting will be lost when imported into those older versions.

I interpret his comments as saying that contributions aren't blocked with this version (with some betas, you actually can NOT contribute).  Not that he was encouraging contributions.  But that's just how I read it.

I just ran into this (imho stupid) SLip Cover Problem,
when i checked for unvoted Contributions, and find a ton of change Profiles, while everybody seems to think, he must use slip cover / slip case checkbox to add. Seems imho more stupid, since the Users raise their Contribution Counter.
for some Packages, it`s not clear or it`s just wrong added.
It think the name could have been better selected to make the difference clear.
And the New Beta Version (i have not installed yet ) should have the Feature, but the Contribution should be stopped for this profiles or there should be an Update on the Contribution rules (with Picture Examples please).
When moving from simple Box Case type, then please make it really useful:
- paper Box around
- Banner
- Paper Sleeve around

and so on.
and not switch one Name with an other.

Why get all DigiPak Cases now a Slip Cover, when it worked for Years well, and the Pure Plastic always had the Paper around. Then all Steelboxes well has to changed also.

If you don't use the new features in the Beta version, how will the Ken know whether the features work or not?  Not everything can be tested at the local level.

But just because you can use the slipcover for something it wasn't designed for doesn't make it not part of the digipak.

Who, besides you, says that's using the slipcover for something it wasn't designed for?

A slip case is an outer cover that is normally found on box sets with multiple keep cases or multidisc digipaks inside.  It may also be used on special edition single disc titles such as the Harry Potter special editions.  It typically has one hole and slides over the contents sideways.

A slip cover is an outer sleeve that fits over one or more keep cases or digipaks in a vertical manner, and has holes at top and bottom.  It is mostly for marketing purposes such as  different cover display artwork, such as on 'Sin City' and '300'.  Digipaks do not typically use slip covers.

Most digipaks use slip covers, according to Ken's clarification.

I was only conserned, and asked a simple question, but I understand now that the contributions would not affect the 3.0.3 so it is cool...

By the way, Dont think Ken needs help to push a button...

Just out of curiousity (because I'm sure there's plenty of examples), what are some digipaks without a slip cover?  I can't think of any off the top of my head.
