Can anyone that buys Scifi TV from UK, do a search on their DB for finnish subs? Many say they only have english subs, still some finnish stores import them and say they have finnish subs. I'm asking cause i'm getting tired of finnish distributors. Also beside scifi would like to know if Jericho, Battlestar Galactica or Scrubs have finnish subs.

I know i can run a search myself, but with the current filters in the add DVD section it would take a lot of time, so hope someone can help out

Battlestar Galactica (New Series) Season 2: Only English subs.
Babylon 5 Season 1-5: English and a few other, no Finnish (although the first season has Swedish).
Farscape all seasons: no subs at all (bastards!)
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex 1-2: nope.
Red Dwarf I-VIII: English only.

Here's a link to an Australian site of titles sorted by the Science Fiction/Fantasy genre. They do not have a more granular filter. About 50% of our titles have finnish subtitles. This site is is very accurate in my experience in relation to the subtitle listings.

It might be worth your while considering Australia as a location to purchase from given that most Region 2 material is also encoded Region 4 and we have the PAL colour system. I have also noticed that we often pay about the same amount in Australian dollars as the Brits seem to pay in pounds. There is a big difference in price. The Australian dollar is worth about 83 cents US.

Thanks for the link To be honest i never even thought Australian DVD's would have finnish subs. I have no problem ordering from any country in any region code. The only thing is i prefer to have the covers/menus in a language i can understand. With the exception of buying from CoO (Having German covers in a German movie is OK, eventhough i cant read German). So will definately start looking from AU too :D

Yeah, I would have liked that a lot! Ben Browder is sometimes hard to understand especially when he argues with "Harvey".

From my DVDP database:

Aeon Flux: Animated TV
Babylon 5: in the Beginning movie (actually all the TV/made for video movies)
Dark Angel (both series)
SeaQuest DSV: Season 1
Star Trek: TOS (all 3 series)
Star Trek: Animated Series
Stargate SG-1: Series 3, 6, 7 and 8 (they may be on the others but I have seen very odd differences between seasons on other releases, such as the Friends ones)
Stargate: Atlantis: Season 1 (not sure about the rest)

HTH

For some of the unknowns it may be worth asking specifics for those who have the sets to hand (I don't) or checkinf the Rewind/DVD Compare site

BTW DVD Compare does seem to agree that Seaosn 3/6/7/8 of SG-1 has Finnish subs but 1,2,4 and 5 don't!
