I noticed that Collectorz movie collection software has a template for printing a report of each DVD that you could print on a white printable DVD.

Is there a DVD Profiler report that does the same thing?

My DVDs come all printed already...

Like Skywatcher said if a DVD is legal the disc is already printed, not that I condemn someone for that since I am guilty myself. But every one that I own is replace when it's release by a legitimate company.

Anyway from the forum rules :

"Post or transmit illegal content, nor provide links or references, or other information related to illegal content.  We have absolutely no tolerance for discussions promoting DVD or CD piracy specifically."

So even if someone make this the template use will never be permit by Invelos since that have just one use : create illegal DVD.

Collectorz is based in the Netherlands as far as I know - and here it is legal to download movies, so it is an obvious feature to include.

I doubt it will be added to DVD Profiler as programmers probably tend to stay away from features supporting behaviour that is illigal in their home country (hmm, guess that means I can stop waiting for Hash-profiler).

But wouldn't that be a feature for "Movie Profiler" instead of "DVD Profiler"?

DVD profiler profiles the DVDs you buy, not the movies you buy (which can be VHS, Downloads, Video CDs, etc.), all of which you could transcode to DVD, sure, and then such a feature would be handy.
But then how could you make a "correct" DVD Profile for it? What would the extras be? (You could have added some to your DVD).

In my opinion, and based on the way the program is built (Availabe funcions/characteristics) and on the Contribution Rules it has, it seems that it is a program directed towards the DVD Collector, and not the Movie Collector that would encompass a much broader view of program features/functionalities. You can today make profiles for your home-made DVDs but can't upload them to the Online DB, which seems to strengthen my view that the program focus is the commercially available, studio issued DVDs.

For the DVD Collector I fail to see interest on a DVD-R face printing report. If we start to go the Movie Profiler path, then there'd be a lot other features I'd find a lot more relevant than this one.

Please notice I'm not going the legality or not path. I'm going the "What's this software for" path. And I'm doing so not in an "elitism" kind of way, but in a "let's not make Ken loose time in unneeded features for the intended program use when we have lots other things we'd like him to do concerning DVDs" way.

As fortunately DVDPro takes reports and plug-ins from 3rd. parties, anyone that thinks the feature is of interest could make up a rport (or even a plug-in if they want any more advanced features), and I'd just keep my trap shut, of course.

I think the question of legality is a separate one from the intent and purpose of the program, which its authors have a perfect right to limit or extend as they see fit. Then customers decide whether to buy it.

The world is moving so fast. Is Amazon.com's UnBox Video illegal?

Example of Unbox.

Now you could argue that it is not the purpose of DVDProfiler to support these kinds of legitimate movie purchases (that have been also released in DVD format), or to support homemade DVDs that in fact have not been released as commercial movies.

But that argument could be made totally separately from any statements regarding the intentions or actions of any specific user.

Edit: By the way, after only 5 min of playing with the reports editor, I got within a hair of the orginal poster's desired output. I'm convinced I could get it nearly 100% if I needed to, which I don't.

So the issue is kind of moot.

No, but to burn it to a blank DVD would be illegal.

Well, I add stuff I tape off the television to DVD Profiler and I use printable DVDs, so yes I can see a use for this that is completely legal.
(Why do some people automatically assume you're doing something illegal when you mention burning DVDs?)
I would have thought it would be possible to achieve by creating a custom report, but I suppose it all depends on how your DVD printing software works.
I'm busy for the next few days, but I'll see what I can come up with.

To be honest - even if Hash Profiler was available - would you ever be in any condition able to type the info in?
