You are completely MISSING (or IGNORING) the FACT that one is already labeled Full Screen, it IS on the Front Cover, the other is NOT, it is not so labeled. THUS the distinction is MADE, no further fictitious inventions need be created.

I can't wait to see someone try and call something a Special Edition because the Overview say soemthing like "This Special Edition...." with no other labeling, it happens. Or let's make it a SPECIAL Edition because it has SPECIAL Features. I am only trying to keep everybody on the one page instead of everyone flying off in their own direction and doing whatever they want to do and we wind up with moree ping-pong wars. Irealize that we have some anarchists who want precisely THAT and no matter how the Rules are worded will twist and turn the words to try and create their own little loophole designed for no other reason than to allow them to put their own special fingerprint on the Online database.

The whole point of field is so that people won't have to assume things or look at the actual profile to figure out what version they are looking at in the master list.  Keeping it local doesn't address this problem at all.  Besides, thsi is not a reasonable assumption.  For instance, there are two versions of Shakespeare in Love.  One is labelled collector's series widesceen, the other isn't labelled.  Both are actually widescreen.  I think it's safe to assume that if one edition is labelled collector's edition or special edition or extreme edition or what not, any versions without such a label are unspecial as this is rarely, if ever, assigned a catchy name.  This does not apply for widescreen or fullscreen as you can't assume anything from the lack of a label.  I understand that you are trying to keep everyone on one page, but it seems to be your page and on your page, usability does not seem to be at the top of the priority list.

Again, according to the rules, the purpose of this field is to distinguish between editions.  Everythign after that is clarification on how to best do this.  Any interpretation that leads to not distinguishing between editions is invalid on its face.

If it helped or not, we don't have to repeat it only a month later

Yeah, unfortunately my warning didn't go far...

Didn't expect my warning to go far, just hoped one or the other would take a look at least at the last pages of the other thread to pick up where it was left off

I think this is what the rule means already, but I think a clearer wording would be to tell people to enter whatever is on the cover unless additional information is needed to distinguish between versions.  The point of this field isn't to duplicate the cover.  We have cover scans for that.  It's to tell peopel what edition something is without having to actually enter the profile.  This is very useful for people building wishlists and such.

Where the hell are the contribution rules?  I've searched the knowledge base and looked all over the website.  Looks there would be a sticky right at the beginning of this forum...doh!  For all the discussion about them, you'd think it would be in big bold letters somewhere...heh

And it would be allowed, per the rules.  'Special Edition' is a built in selection AND, in your example, is on the case.  It falls under both sections of the rule.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

It is ALSO NOT on the BACK COVER or the SPINE...Unicus, as you WELL know. It is only listed as part of the specifics in the FEATURES area. Just what are you trying to prove.

I am sorry, my friend, as I said I am trying to keep everybody on one page, whgile nearly EVERY comment you make is designed to encourage users to fly off and do whatever they want, if you can figure out to parse the language to permit it.

Doing profiles, and trying to follow all the rules, sometimes makes me wish I did drink!
