I tried to search but found nothing.

Im trying to update the regions for Dexter Season 2, the profile now shows 0, is this what we now use for "All Regions"? According to the rules we should be adding "All Regions" but it will only allow me to choose each region which now shows an "M"?

By the way my source is Dvd Decryptor and it shows 0 RCE

In the case of all or no regions I tend to go by the back cover (after confirming with decrypter).
If the back cover says "0" regions, I tick none. If the back cover says "All" I tick them all.

Edit: There is a difference between no regions and all regions, but it's very hard to distinguish and involves really looking deep into the IFO file, which is why I use the above method instead.

I can't remember: didn't Profiler 2.x have an "All" logo? It'd be nice if we had one.

This is what the rules state:
List the Region(s) shown on the cover, unless you can verify there is a discrepancy between that and the region coding on the disc.

List DVDs encoded for at least Regions 1-6 as "All." Regions 7-8 are ignored for the purposes of DVD Profiler.
RCE discs report region information incorrectly when analyzed. If RCE is present, use the box information.
When adding regions not listed on the cover, include your verification method (including of RCE presence) in your contribution notes.

And according to the cover it tis Region 1, but the discs using decryptor state all 6. Same for Dexter Season 1 and the profile now also show region 0.

If the cover says region 1, but decrypter says 1-6, then I would tick all 6.

If Dvd Decryptor shows it as a RCE disk, you must list it as shown on the cover.

RCE means that the disk shows itself as all-region, but then will only run on a region-1 player ( I don't think that it was ever used outside region-1 ).

We don't tick all regions since region 1-6 = ALL for our purposes. The progam will show this as region 0 when no regions are ticked but the comparison screen will say Region All. I'll admit the terminology is confused and illogical but it's the way we do it.

Apologies, I'd totally missed the RCE comment. You're right, we're not as familiar with those over this side of the pond.

Sometimes the box lies. I always us a program called VSO Inspector, which is a free program and it will tell you the regions on the disc. So to answer you question, if it says Region 0 it is region free.

I don't use Dvd Decryptor but if it shows region-0 with RCE then that should be listed as region-1 per the box.

If it is showing all-regions without RCE then we list it as region-0.

So, this should be Region-0, and we would not tick any of the boxes in Profiler?

I would say yes, your pic is much clearer than mike's post as to the lack of RCE.

Based on this it should play in any region, which we mark as '0'.

RCE is tricky, the best Rule of thumb to apply and it IS a rule of thumb. Columbia films older than about 4 years ago are likely going to have RCE. DVDShrink is the ONLY tool I know that can reliably reveal RCE BUT you have to know what you are looking for.

Do NOT rely soley on DVD Decrypter or any other tool for RCE.

No, there isn't. On disk all region bits are set for region 0 and all regions. Those are simply two labels for the same thing. For profiler purposes, we don't check any region marks if the bits for region 1 to 6 are all set on disc. And we totally ignore region bits 7 (flight) and 8 (not defined).

BTW: Are there still new RCE disc out there? I thought the industry has abandoned RCE some time ago.
