That one will be a little while (few days). Invelos gives updates a chance to be voted on.

I've just voted yes for the update to the parent profile, but i can't find yet the child profiles on the main database, neither by name or disc id. Is this normal?

Then I have to start on the other three 50-movie packs I own.

Check before that they are not already online. So far i have two 50 movie pack boxes with approved online child profiles (Horror Classics and Sci-Fi Classics).

Anyway, many many thanks for the great work!

Once approved you still have to wait for them to be released. You will be able to download them tomorrow.

Thanks for letting me know about Sci-Fi Classics, since that is one that I was going to do.  Next on my list: Drive-In Movie Classics.

The chilling classics child profiles are not yet in the database: have you checked if they have been released other than approved? It seems strange to me, ususally after a few hours they are approved they are released too and it's 2 days now ...

just a guess here... but are you checking the correct region and locality? Ottobud has a Canadian flag on his posts... so I would be sure to check R1 and Canada for the locality.

I created the child profiles with a US locality since they were all US releases.  They show up OK for me.  As an example, try searching for "Cathy's Curse" by title; you should see an entry for "Cathy's Curse / The Alpha Incident" which is one of the children.  Ensure you have "Include no region" checked since these are all-region discs.

Fine: i got them! I was searching for "chilling", assuming you've made the childs as "Chilling classics: disc 1" etc.
Thanks again, nice work!

I was going to do that actually (preceding each title with "Chilling Classics: ") but decided instead to put it in the Edition field, as I wouldn't be left with much room in the title otherwise.  That seems to be what others have done with similar releases.

I'd say: first check if the discs are individually packaged, and if so, if there's anything on the cover. Per the rules, if there's any form of title on the cover, then that is what should be entered. (You could still use the Original Title field to be able to track the actual movie titles.)

If they are not individually packaged, or if they are but there's nothing on the cover (e.g. blank envelopes), then perhaps you could enter by what the disc label (or in case of double-sided discs: the small print near the hole in the middle) says.

IMHO using the Edition field in cases as these is unwarranted - that field should be used either to distinguish between different editions of the same movie or to link different releases within a single collection (e.g. The Criterion Collection) together. These 50 movie packs fall into neither of these two categories, as they're a single release.

The discs are individually packaged in cardboard slip cases (although they were never sold this way).

I put the actual movie titles in the Title field, and also used the Original Field field for...well....original titles since in many cases the films were retitled.

Each slip case has "Chilling Classics DVD Collection", followed by the disc and side info, above the actual film titles.  If I used the Original Title field for the individual film titles, then we'd be stuck with 24 entries named "Chilling Classics DVD Collection Disc 1 Side A", "Chilling Classics DVD Collection Disc 2 Side B", "Chilling Classics DVD Collection Disc 3 Side A", etc.  Is this really the preferred solution?

Personally, I think the way I did it works better, since a user can now search for "Cathy's Curse" and get a list of all releases of this title, including the Chilling Classics version.  This wouldn't work if the Original Title field was used.  Of course, if the rules state otherwise, I can always change the titles and resubmit them.

I can live perfectly well with handling the title the way you did (I did it the same way when I was profiling the 50 War Classics children - there, too, many films were retitled and the Original Title field had to be used for that), I just don't think the Edition field should be used. They're already linked to the collection title through the parent-children linkage anyway and, more importantly, they are part of one and the same release, so it would be technically agaiinst the rules to use the Edition field - except if you could find a different release with the same title (either as a stand-alone release or as part of a different box set).

When I did Tales of Terror I did the same thing... without edition field... I ended up with...

Tales of Terror
- Christmas Evil
- Circus of Fear
- Deep Red, The Hatchet Murders
- Die, Sister Die
- House on the Edge of the Park
- Lady Frankenstein
- Messiah of Evil
- Sisters of Death
- Web of the Spider
- The Werewolf and the Vampire Woman

I took the titles right off the back of the boxset case. I thought about the edition field... thinking it is part of a collection... this collection. But then decided I felt that it didn't really belong so in the end decided to go with only the titles of the movies. It is easy enough to find the right ones with the preview. Especially in 3.5 where there is the quick preview.
