You took the credits somewhere. Thats the source, write it down so the screeners know it too "Cast & crew taken from this same profile in the old Intervocative Softwares Database". If its rejected, then IVS database is not a valid source anymore.

if you move profiles from IVS to Invelos: you have to remove the uncredited cast or document the uncredited cast
Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions.

Previous to July 2005 documentation was not a requirement for cast & crew, uncredited or otherwise.

Even if that is the case... I don't think it applies here and any uncredited cast should be documented or removed since it has been so long and is being looked at as a new profile it should have everything documented and verified... just like any other new profile being added to the main database.

When I ran into this problem Gerri sent me a private message that this was the correct way to get this data accepted.

... some existing profiles, including the ones without cover scans and some with - apparently - invalid UPCs/EANs were not converted.

So not ALL profiles were moved over to Invelos.

Before Ken did the mass importing of old IVS profiles, we did a lot of them ourselves in our local databases.  The IVS database was version 2.4 and the move to Invelos gave us version 3.0.  Converting from 2.4 to 3.0 involved a number of exceptions, many due to invalid UPCs/EANs that version 3.0 didn't recognize.  We got an exception file with these bad UPCs/EANs profiles which we had to correct manually before we could load them into our local dtabase.  I remember having a lot of trouble correcting bad UPCs for a number of the profiles in my database.  Most of my trouble came from not scanning the covers myself -- and the UPC on the scan I downloaded into the old IVS-Profiler was illegible.  The problem came usually with the first or last digits of the UPC, which are displayed in a smaller font than the middle digits and often less legible.  I had a sufficient number of these I had to fix.  Often I could fix them by trial and error, changing the last (check) digit on the UPC until Profiler accepted it.  But then there were some that I never COULD fix (usually in my Wishlist, where I didn't have a real cover to look at even if I wanted to).

Why I mention this is that the problem Ken faced with the mass conversion was much worse than what the individual user faced.  I would imagine that there were thousands of profiles that had bad UPCs/EANs.  I don't see how Ken could have corrected these invalid UPCs/EANs without having the DVD itself for reference.  That's probably the reason why some titles didn't get converted.
Another Ken (not Ken Cole)

Previous to July 2005 documentation was not a requirement for cast & crew, uncredited or otherwise.

8Ball covered the basics, i get tired of having to repeat things, this has been talked about before.. The short version is that Ken grandfathered daughter prior to July 2005, that does NOT mean the data is correct, it means it was accepted PERIOD. Thus for any re-release of ANY title post 2005 (uncredited) from a previous rellease is not accepted without documentation. I know people do it all the time and ANY undocumented (uncredited) should be documented or removed, particularly if it is a CARBON copy of another database.

Some of us suppoted removal odf all (uncredited) and starting with a blank slayte, however The Ken also recognized value in (uncredited) such as an early (uncredited) appearance for Clint Eastwood, which could be lost for a long time if not forever. So he decided the grandfather the OLD data.

My apologies to Wom6at but I  can't resist, the image that just popped into my head. Why, Daddy, Why?

The problem, Skip, is the date and the uncredited "rule" isn't officially written down anywhere.  Unless you stumble across it in a thread such as this (or get hammered with No votes when submitting a profile change) there's no way to know it.

This would be a simple addition to the Rules, in my opinion.  You'd also save energy for responding to people asking if there is a CD profiler.
