I'm currently staying in New York (Queens) and am on the lookout for any decent Blu-ray bargains, in particular the Panasonic BDP-35 player and any decent films.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

PS. I'm amazed at how expensive the discs are in the states. ranging from $25 (£17ish) for sale titles to $40 (£27ish) for new titles. I was expecting to pick up a few cheaper here but I can get them for cheaper in the UK. That really surprised me, but I suppose the current exchange rate doesn't help matters.

That's weird.  My costs on Amazon.com range from $10.95 to $27.95 for new titles (excluding box sets, etc).

I was talking about the bricks and mortar stores. I've had about 9 titles delivered to my Hotel from amazon.com but most are cheaper at amazon.co.uk, especially with their 3 for 2 deals that include many newer titles such as Indy 4, Kung-Fu Panda, Sleeping Beauty, Hulk etc

LG Black 6X Blu-ray DVD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 40X CD-ROM SATA Internal Combo LG Blu-ray/HD DVD-ROM & 16X DVD±R DVD Burner Model GGC-H20LK - OEM

Newegg has that internal computer drive for $94.99 as part of their Black Friday specials. If you live in the continental USA, you also get free UP3 3-day shipping. I just ordered it earlier, and thankfully there's no tax to Missouri either.

It is the OEM version, but otherwise is identical to the retail version of the drive which is sold for $149.99 there.

I picked up Men in Black Blu-ray for $9.99 at Fry's today.  They had about 15 titles for $9.99 and all of the new Bond releases individually for $14.99

They need to put a screeching halt to this "Black Friday" crap. Personally I don't think it's worth someone's life to save a few bucks.

Don't blame black friday, blame walmart for the lack of security. In my area, the police are at every store to make sure this doesn't happen.

I kinda agree that Wal-Mart is ultimately to blame here.  I have done the camping out thing in the past for black friday, and when it is done right, the management of the store controls the flow of the crowd prior to opening the doors, in fact Bestbuy has done a great job having the management and crew organize the crowd at least an hour prior to opening the doors!!!  For such a huge retail business surely they should have realized that just having a free-for-all start to such a busy shopping day with such a large crowd gathering outside the doors was begging for disaster!!!

I did my Black Friday shopping online.  Band of Brother on blu-ray on Amazon was a steal IMO.
