 | | Posted: | | | | | | | Hi all,
I am thinking about buying a BD player soon, maybe the Sony BDP S 350.
What is important for me is to be able to watch R1, 2 and 4 DVDs on it.
Does anybody know if this is possible?
From what I read so far the picture quality should be fine.
Or does anybody have a better alternative (also considering the price)?

Does somebody know of a good site to judge the video quality of the blu ray discs, so I can decide if I want to buy a BD I already have on DVD?

 Thanks to all

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | I have used the sites mentioned above.Site blu-ray.com/movies/ has hte users rating the movie video, sound, etc.
As far as the Blu-rsy's region codes wasn't there a forum link discussing those.
I have a Samsung BD-P1500C, it was on sale with a disc package,
and Panasonic DMP-BD35K, it is about $70 more now than I paid for it
The Samsung hung after about a month, they fixed it in about week and extended my warranty .
Both although not the top of their respective companies players.
Panasonic I think is the better of the two, at least I prefer it.
I have not tried the internet connection although I have firmware update for the Samsung.

That's the two sites I use, with DVDTalk thrown in for good measure | | | | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative)

 | | Posted: | | | | | | | First of all, thank you very much to all who posted, I bookmarked the links you posted - looks very good. Second - I DID IT! Sony BDP S 350 - Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Iron Man - all look terrific!! Now the only thing that bothers me is the region code, I got a URC-7740 remote and followed the instructions to the letter, but so far no luck - will keep trying. Thanks again and enjoy the movies! | | | | | | |

I assume you are aware we are talking about the DVD region code - you can't make it Blu ray code free. | | | | | | Paul |
