This program is ancient in the meantime.

Your guess is as good as mine...

The Android app (which I personally have no use for) was released in September, but other than that there's been silence.

Personally, I wouldn't classify something that runs quite well on the latest version of Windows as "ancient".  Not that I would mind a new version of course.  But let's keep some perspective here.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

While I am as ready as anyone for a new version I have to agree with Mark here. It isn't like the programer hasn't shown any life what so ever in years around here. And considering there is only 1 programer doing all the versions available I am not surprised at a long wait between updates... but hey... that is me I guess.

Prior to a program-update I'd like to see some (for not saying: "The") rules revised.

Even though (given the creativity some of us show when it comes to find interpretations) I'm not sure how it will ever be possible to disambiguate all of them.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Rules are such an ancient concept.

I agree that the program is great, and we do not really need an update though some improvements could be interesting. The main problem is the database, which is a total mess. And to solve this, we do not need revised rules, but to rewrite them in a completely different manner.

As I wrote in another thread,  a correct database needs data that will allow to use database functions, as filtering, linking, sorting, searching,... and, to obtain that, we need that in all fields we get "one object = one and only one identifier".

So we have to  stop with the "copy exactly what is on cover/credits" stupid concept (which kills all database functions as soon as a credit or cover maker makes a mistake or wants to be "original" with titles as "T4xi" ), and rewrite the rules with a "correct data" concept. This is for all fields : credits, movie titles, studios, overviews...

You never stop what you're doing, why should the rest of us have to stop what we do?

As I said before... while it is ultimately up to Ken I will always vote against this idea... as I fundamentally disagree.

Honestly the desktop app doesn't really need any major changes.  It still looks and runs fantastic on Windows 8.1.  I think more work should be done on the mobile apps.  I use the iOS app and it's interface could definitely be improved.

The Android app could use some TLC as well... despite the recent update. Though I would still like to see an update to the desktop program... as I use it more then anything.

Nevertheless, there have been a lot of requests for new/improved features.

For me it runs nice. More Languages in Audio Tracks would be nice, such as Ukrain but also others. I hope we get this time the 4K option before the first discs come out. 3D was very late and it gives a lot of work if you have to change and correct it later. So give us the Option for Blu-ray 4K or what it is on time this time, thanks.

Yes, it would. Even nicer would be the ability to manually enter any language the user sees fit

Yes I know that you prefer lazy copy than search of accuracy. Good choice for a useless database.
