Hi,
sorry for my bad English.

I just wanted to buy DVD-Profiler, but I got a warning from Firefox during entering my password, that the site is not encrypted.

In Geman, the message says: Diese Verbindung ist nicht verschlüsselt. Hier eingebene Zugangsdaten könnten in falsche Hände geraten."  In my bad translation it is "This connection is not encrypted. The data could get into the wrong hands".

I never ever got this warning on any website. Now I'm expected to pay over a site which is not encrypted. I don't want to do this. Why do I get this warning?

Your getting this, because its served in plaintext http. I guess payment will be secured (although I can't say for sure). I guess there won't be changes anytime soon, unfortunatly.

Thank you. Then I think I skip DVD-Profiler. Or are there other methods of payment without risk, like a Paysafe-card?

We are legacy also. Buying physical media is so out of date.

Hiho, hiho, off to the retirement homes we go.

I don't know. I think it's reverting to being a nische market for the enthusiasts. The boutique labels seems to be doing just fine; Arrow, Indicator, Kino, Shout Factory and the likes.

I wonder if, in the future, people will buy DVDs even though they can't even play them, as is the case for quite a lot of vinyl purchases.
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

I was, and still sort of, heading towards a preference for streaming, but these things still give me pause:

(1) Even the best network will "cough" - and usually on movie night!
(2) Demise of Ultraviolet repository. Are my digital purchases really protected?
(3) Loss of control: I woke up one day and portions of one library started showing up in other portals. What?? Who told them to do that? Now my whole parental guidance, etc. system is shot because I can't predict when some flesh flick I watched is gonna show up on something the grand kids (or my wife  ) can see.
(4) Quality. Nothing beats the disc. On a big screen, good audio system - nothing beats the disc. Period.

On the other hand, bundling is a good thing. Now I see offers from Walmart and others that will send you the disc for a fee over purchase of the digital stream. Good idea. Get it right away, but still retain the option for the disc, for sometimes a bit less.
Thanks for your support.

I still love physical media. With high end equipment, the picture and sound is superior to streaming.
