| Posted: | | | | Documentation: IMDbIMDbfrom CLT: Bill Van Daleen (15/165) William Van Daalan (2/120) Hello guys. I have this doubt about this Sound Editor. It is very likely that it is the same person... Bill Van Daalen's filmography stops at 1995. In 1996 we find William Van Daalan, with his only credit. My doubt arises from an assonance between the two names... What do you think? | | | "Two days ago, I saw a vehicle that would haul that tanker. | Posted: | | | | As so often with such crew members who aren't huge stars, it's pretty much impossible to be 100% certain, but I would certainly expect these two name variants to refer to one and the same sound editor, yes - certainly with these filmographies and their timeline. It all fits together, and the notion that a separate William Van Daalan actually exists, with only one credit to his name, actually seems significantly less likely than being just another misspelling of Bill Van Daalen's name. |

| Posted: | | | | Bill Van Daalen is the sound editor in two films directed by Roland Emmerich and William Van Daalen's only credit is in the Roland Emmerich-directed Independence Day so it is extremely likely they are the same person with him credited using the longer version of his first name in Independence Day.
I have submitted a request to merge the two on IMDb. |

| Posted: | | | | I don't know, if this is going to be common name thread, but the actual credits are:
Stargate@2:00:37 (Directors Cut, DVD) SOUND EDITORS ... BILL VAN DAALEN ...
Independence Day@2:22:30 Sound Editors ... WILLIAM VAN DAALAN ... | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Nosferatu: Quote: IMDb now just has one entry for this person, with him listed, as William van Daarlan, as the sound editor on Independence Day https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0885909/ This means that someone follows our discussions. I think there are no more doubts about this person... | | | "Two days ago, I saw a vehicle that would haul that tanker. You want to get out of here? ...You talk to me." |
