Not really a rule violation, but pending clarification or Asian name rules, I strictly go by Last name = Surname (Family Name), First name = Given name for all Asian cast/crew

I thought there would be more, but I guess I follow the rest of the rules, more or less.

- I use common real name (or common stage name) for actors and crew, and list them with main actors at the top.
- I rewrite overviews when spoiler, advertising, spelling mistakes or inaccuracy, and never use bold and italics.
- I never use boxsets. One movie = one profile in all cases.
- I use rating details field for audience in theaters in my country.
- I use theater release title of film, not the one on cover.
- I use a personal common name system for studios to have proper linking
- I never use group dividers
- I use cover scan that match with inner cover corresponding with what I own, and edit them to delete rating logos. When boxsets, I use fake cover scans for each movie.
- I use SRP at the time I buy the movie

Most obvious is probably alternate covers for child profiles. I don't like having the same image for different movies.

I use normal titles, not typographic gimmicks like Se7en.

BTW, xradman, I think I'm going to copy your use of numbering collections.

I use cast & crew from IMDb, so that the linking works properly. I don't need to know how someone was credited in one particular movie as long as all his/her appearances are shoing up when I click on it. I also don't care if the credits say "Captain Kirk" or just "Kirk" as long as I know who he is supposed to be.

I also eliminate all edition texts and only use them when I have the same movie twice. And then I make it a clear disctinction (e.g. "Special Edition" vs. "Theatrical Cut" or "Japan Cut").

And I normalize all the season indicators. No "The Complete First Season" or "Season Two". For me, it's all "Season 3".

I use the german title of the movie (if there is one), no matter where in the world I bought a particular DVD.

I use the SRP field for the original purchase price in the country of purchase and fill the purchase price in € with the amount I actually paid (e.g. including shipping).

Edit: Only "watchable" profiles contain a runtime. No movie box sets and no season sets. The sum of the runtimes of all my profiles is the actual runtime of all my profiles.

Nothing major here but...

1. For TV Series all info is stripped from the parent profile
2. For all sets (TV Series or Movie boxsets) I delete Running Time from Parent profile because to me that is giving the set double the length it should be. And it messes up the total length of the collection for statistics in database query plugin.

They are the only two I can think of off the top of my head.

I also do this. I like the Martian's example for Cast. I didn't see a copyright on it, so I'm stealing it. I won't contribute them, I'll make the contribution and then add them. I think it will give a much clearer picture who were the featured actors.

All rules I deviate from in my local database are related to the Japanese language, as the current rules at Invelos manage that in a horrible, horrible way ... from the perspective of people who understand the language, that is:

- 'hidden' Japanese audio and subtitle tracks: I add the Easter Egg info but I also add the tracks to the audio and subtitle menu
- Japanese names: all romanized from the original Japanese credits, using waapuro romanization

... I guess that's about all.

I use a lot of manual profiles for bonus shorts, documentaries, etc., with custom art from screenshots or from the web (posters, DVDs if available anywhere).

For TV sets, I strip cast/crew and disc ID from parents so inserting the disc calls up the actual disc.

I also use the collection #s:  Criterion; Dragon Dynasty; etc.

I include "2-disc", "Blu-ray + DVD" in Edition since it clearly delineates the release.
