ok, it me, the origin of all this uproar again. Sorry for this battle. But as far as the original titles that came out back in march 1997, ie. Twister, Species and Road Warrior, my source listed was from WidescreenReview Magazine from the September 1997 date. Ok, now lets for a moment travel back in time, the most incredible improvement in home theater has just been released to well, i believe it was only like 4 cities across the nation that were even aloud to market dvd for a trial period cause many thought this dvd fade to be a flop like beta tapes. But just for an instant a company that has been around promoting laser discs (way too expensive) and the crappy vhs tapes finally has something exciting and new to finally provide new information to their subscribing fans. So I believe what the "NO" voters are saying, is that Widescreenreview which finally after years of ho hum reviews finally had some exciting news about the new titles released to the small public on dvd (the biggest thing in years) rushes to market to print the release dates on these current pioneer dvd titles (and they give all wrong information). I mean really, when dvd hit the market in march 1997, what were there like 25 titles to choose from and all released on the same day at that March 25 1997, do you really think a home theater magazine would give out the wrong information in their magazine. I understand that Widescreenreview information is not perfect probably in every review that they have ever done, but i think when you are talking about the gold mark of dvd and the first titles, their information was and still is correct. The original magazine information does not change, the September issue information did not change, however, various websites have various information and they all can differ. And this that:

If anyone else can help me out by supplying any more supportive documentation for my cause, and I can see that many have just reading this thread, I would think that the "NO" voters would pull back there vote..

ok here is the link to the widescreenreview for non members, but if you type in the name of the dvd title you are looking for it will give a list and the release date is given. Twister shows 3/97 as does Species and Road Warrior.

although the website shows only the month and year, I guess you are gonna have to trust me that March 25, 1997 is what i am reading out of my magazine issue 25 Sept 1997.

The only thing I knew for sure was that what was there was not right... not that you were right about the date. we have to give sources that the info we are providing is exactly right... not just prove that the info there is wrong.

Just telling us that you got it from an old magazine... no matter the magazine... is like not giving a source at all because I (or the screeners) can't go to that source to check it for myself. In other words you are saying just trust me. And as I said... that is not sourcing your info.

Now that you FINALLY gave a link to an actual site I can go look for myself. Even though the link should be in your contribution notes... for all voters and the screeners to be able to check them... not in a forum thread they may or may not know about. So if you haven't done so yet... I would recommend you to update your notes with the link you provided.

ok, i have actually spent most of my morning running around getting my issues from ws review photocopied, scanned and then emailed to myself. I have a 2 page article about the release dates on the very first dvd's to hit the market something any dvd enthusist would like to hold onto. Also I have the first WS Review DVDisography which lists the month of release date for 1997 updated 4/22/1997. (the article will tell the actual day).This should prove my point without a shadow of anyones minds. the problem i now have is: How in bloody H*LL do i get a pictuer file in here...??

Personally, I think this is above and beyond the call.  When I was doing a quick search I found any number of archived webpages that referred to the limited March '97 rollout of the DVD titles in question.  This is starting to take on all the aspects of some sort of freshman hazing ceremony.
