Okay, I'm finally in the Full HD and Blu-ray era... haven't bought any home theatre audio yet, but likely will do so later this year.

Purchased the television and blu-ray player last Monday (July 14th) and got them delivered today.

TV: SONY KDL-46X3500 (replacing an ancient 28" Panasonic tubetelly...)
BD: SONY BDP-S300

Haven't tested the HDMI upscaling of my old SAMSUNG DVD-HD850 yet. I will continue to use that player along with BD because it's region free. Ratatouille Blu-ray currently playing in the background, and I'll have to say that the picture quality is amazing.

Wow, that just looks great. May I ask how much you paid for that? If you don't want to tell me the exact amount just give me an estimate. I am really curious.
Also did you set that all up yourself or did you have a professional company do it?

I'd have to give a ballpark figure of $8-10K for everything, including materials used to build the cabinetry, etc. It was never a lump-sum paid out though. My theater has been built up over several years of upgrades and equipment swaps (much to my wife's dismay) I'm always the bargain hunter though, so quite often I got very good prices on the equipment (example, less than cost for the the Berkline seating, and ~100$ for the screen I made myself instead of $800+ for a commercial one)

As for the collection value? Higher than the equipment, and I'm looking forward to see my MSRP total once I get my Dbase built.

All the work on the cabinetry and installation was done by me. The sound and image (especially on a Blu-Ray title) is just stunning.

Looks great. My setup cost about the same thing even though I looks pretty normal but 10 years ago I had a company and for that (It was home entertainment) I bought Demo speakers. Vienna Acoustics. And for the 5 speakers I paid about $7,500 or so. They would have cost even more but I got a good deal.
But speakers you (hopefully) have to buy only once. Now I just got a LCD TV. Which would cost about $1000 in the US. Over here it was $2000. I am paying in installments.

I would trade my stuff for yours though, if you want..

Just got my self a new homecinema set. Nothing very impressive, seeing the other setups. But good enough for me. I had a Phillips HTS-3000, but after a few months of use it began to give me problems, ending with burning it self up

So, yesterday I bought a replacement, this time a Samsung HT-Z10. Thinking all Home Cinema Systems have SCART connectors I didn't even look at the back end. Wish I did, because it doesn't have one, only RCA connector and Components connector. Unfortunately, my television only have RCA and 2 SCART's. So, I'm now watching it through the RCA cable, but I find the quality a bit lower then I had expected.

Guess I need to save up for a new television set now.

I´m still at the "beginners level", as i´m looking through this thread.

TV: 32" Samsung LE32 R71 B32
AV-Receiver: Pioneer VSX D510
Speakers: Teufel Concept E Magnum 5.1
DVD: Samsung DVD 1080P7
TV-Receiver: Pace DS810XE (Sat-HDTV)
Console: XBox 360 Premium

I definitely need a DVD-Recorder or HDD Recorder. The last few days there where so many films on tv, which i´d like to have.
