My assumption was wrong.

Prerequisties (just checked out)
- using Windows 10
- having the Feedback-Hub App installed (the DJ Doenas link provides a link to the Microsoft store, if the app is missing) and
- having Feedback-Hub App logged into a valid Microsoft account
- using any Browser (tested with Edge, Internet Explorer and Firefox)
- allowing the browser to open the Feedback-Hub App

Based upon the character as written on screen. It is of no interest, where the character initially apeared.

One of the greenies was from me, because I think this is a very interesting area. Especially comparing between data bases is an issue I regularly run into...

Although I'm not able to think about it in detail right now, out if an an time issue...

You have to log in to www.dvdprofiler.com in Internet Explorer as an administrator. If you log in via regular IE, it doesn't work. Nor does it work if you log in via dvdprofiler.com (without www), or using any other browser than IE. It's very specific.

Great hint

Addition: You have to check the Keep me signed in checkmark.

I don't think this is a valid source, it is a third party data base...

The barcodes should start with:

I don't know where you get that from but the point here is that they are exactly the same for all four localities. Not always but more often than not.

Source eg. in German language here
The EAN codes are assigned by the production company or the local distribution studio. Because the EAN codes are made up from three parts CountryPrefix/CompanyID/ProductID, you can determine one single country where the release was produced. - From my point of view, this should be the locality used for DVDP, no matter, where the disc was purchased...

But to agree with Danae Cassandra: this means you won't get the correct default for the SRP currency, if you live outside this one single country...

another hint would be the first encoded language (except the original language audio track) on the disc.

That wouldn't work since we don't dub movies (except children's movies). Locality of the media company would probably be a better choice. But it's a moot point, since the chances of this (or any other enhancement) seems almost nonexistant.

The barcodes should start with:
57 Denmark
64 Finland
70 Norway
73 Sweden

This is Re-Recording Mixer Jim Fitzpatrick (1952).

The headshot is a crop from the image on this page.

Thanks, yes, Mr. Fitzpatrick was the location, where I found the photo. But I was not able to verify it and really thought that the guy is an actor, Geoffry Rush as I know now...

He kind of looks like Geoffrey Rush. He plays Captain Barbosa in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. But I am not certain.

That's what drove me crazy... but finally he isn't...

Hi,

just out of desperation, a (maybe very stupid) question...

Who is this:

Topic Replies: 6, Topic Views: 1940
Same here with the German localities (German, Austria, Switzerland). Most of the titles available in Austria are German releases. I use the Austrian locality only for titles where the media company is an Austrian label (Hoanzl, ORF, ...) and/or if the EAN code is an Austrian one (90...).

I think this could be a good starting point for which locality to use for northern countries too; another hint would be the first encoded language (except the original language audio track) on the disc.

But I agree, multiple localized profiles for one release are not usefull!

Thanks for confirmation; but the CLT is quite convincing (not a single overlapping title), so this was not meant as a common name thread, but only as a summary...
