The main body of overview for this title is in all italic, except for the details which are both non-italic and italic. The rule states "If the entire overview is bolded or italicized, omit this formatting." My question is: Would the fact that the details have both constitute the use of italic for the main body?

I feel that it should be italic.

I used italics in my local database, but I would not contribute it that way.

When you say "except for the details", you're referring to the footnote, right? That's the line that says:

*2003, Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, Sex and the City.

So the entire overview is entirely in italics, from start to finish - except that footnote. In that case, I would follow the rule that says: "If the entire overview is bolded or italicized, omit this formatting."

Yes T!M I am referring to the footnote. So are you saying that the body should be italic because the footnote is part of the overview?

No, exactly the opposite. I said that I would follow the rule that says: "If the entire overview is bolded or italicized, omit this formatting", so I would *not* put the entire overview in italics. While we include the footnote in the "Overview" field, I'm not considering it a true part of the overview itself - when I look at the back cover, I see an overview plus a footnote. The overview is entirely in italics, while the footnote is not. I'm just looking at what I consider to be the actual overview, and that part is entirely italicized, so that's why I would apply the "omit this formatting" rule.

Of course, as this is DVD Profiler, consensus is always hard to find, and so there's always going to be someone that says: well, the footnote is included in the "Overview" field, it's an integral part of the overview, and as such, it should be taken into account when we're deciding whether the entire overview is italicized. I'm just not one of them. If I look at the back cover of 024543602767, I see an overview that's entirely italicized. Yes, there's a footnote as well, but I personally don't believe that the rule that says "If the entire overview is bolded or italicized, omit this formatting" was made with footnotes in mind. But that's just me.

OK guys, thanks. Only the body of the overview counts towards the rules. So not italic in the online. I'll keep it local.
