Then why do we include the film credits?  If we're really profiling only the DVD, we should be including only the people who worked on producing the DVD, like the guy who does the cover art or the guy who writes the text on the back.

Basically anyone who's "reminding" us of this hasn't thought it through very well.

Believe it or not, I asked this very same question several years ago.  It was a rhetorical question and, at the time, I was playing 'Devil's Advocate'.  In addition, you question makes no sense as it questions a point I never made.

I will, however, answer it. 

The program is called DVD Profiler because we are profiling the DVD release of the film / TV Series / Sporting Event / etc.  That is why we include things like, DVD release date, SRP, Dist. Trait, etc.  If this were Movie Profiler, we would not include those things.  We would simply have an IMDb style db.

Because we are profiling the DVD release of the film, the title should be that of the DVD release.  We have the 'Original Title' field for the theatrical title.

I totally disagree with Unicus on this one...
